Budget Truck Rental

If I could give zero stars I would. Made a reservation 2 weeks ago with Budget. Received several confirmations including the day before pickup. Show up = owner says sorry, I have nothing to rent to you, but it’s not my fault despite not messaging you to tell you, it’s Budget’s fault. Budget tells me a reservation doesn’t mean they actually have a van for me.

Was able to get a hold of them twice out of maybe 30 calls. My budget truck broke down and had to be towed away paid in cash so had to pay a $150 deposit and it would be returned upon returning truck back to Long Island City location Its been 3 weeks since the truck was towed BY a company Budget roadside assistances hired. Long Island City called me 3 days later confused to why the truck never arrived and I had to explain it was towed by a company Budget hired. They said once they confirm where its been towed too they would call back and mail my deposit......a few days go by, no call back from them, so I them call again and they said that they were still waiting for Budget the ones who deal with roadside assistance to reach back out to them with where the truck went for repairs.... okay..... well, another week goes by and NO call from them yet again or update! So, I go ahead and call Budget roadside assistance and within 20 minutes I get told it was sent to Farmingdale for repairs by the agent on the phone and that the truck was in fact checked in there...... I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET SOMEONE ON THE PHONE FROM LONG ISLAND CITY BUDGET OFFICE SINCE!!!! NO ONE FROM THE OFFICE HAS CALLED ME BACK SINCE THEY SAID THEY WOULD! I have tried to call them multiple times all throughout different times of their 'claimed' to be business hours. I keep getting the automatic message that they are helping another customer and to call back at another time. No way to leave a message or callback number for them......I WANT my $150 deposit BACK, its BEEN 3 weeks, this is theft at this point, truck was RETURNED 3 weeks ago!

Guy who took care of us was efficient, friendly and very knowledgeable. Answered all the questions we had and gave us some tips in using the truck.

Haven't even picked up my truck yet and already nervous about this place. Can't get anyone on the phone. Went over to try to talk to a rep, just to confirm the truck I reserved is still going to be available. Got there and was greeted by a note that says "be back soon" and a phone number that is disconnected. I'm very nervous that the truck I reserved won't be available in a few days.

Terrible customer service. Nobody picks up the phone. You are supposed to know, without anyone telling you in advance, that you need to drop off your truck at a open air parking lot and leave your keys + your own copy of the rental contract inside a locker box. Be prepared: nobody will call you to confirm that you have delivered the pick up truck safely.

First of all thr other reviews are correct you will never get a hold of the actual business instead get the run around and just call Budget main center. I will never again personally useBudget truck rental services and I will go out of my way to deter anyone I care about from using their services. I booked a truck weeks ago to move on the last Saturday of the month when my lease is up naturally and I even called the business to confirm it which it was confirmed. Yesterday I recieved a TEXT LESS THAN 48 HOURS BEFORE my move that my truck was canceled! After an evening and all afternoon of frustrating phones calls and waiting they just don't have a truck for me. My sister and I are going to have to do an insane long trip to get a truck and drive it back and then back down again. Budget does not know how to properly run a business.. I'm sorrys do nothing to help our financial predicament.

Dropped off my Budget truck rental here and was greeted by the nicest NY welcoming by Ian! Very efficient and courteous with clear instructions. Seamless process, would definitely recommend to anyone! Thanks Ian!

I had the worst experience with this place. I ordered a 16" truck for a 1 way move for our business. We had to move the items that very day. Everything was confirmed online I had tried to call and confirm but every time I tried to call here, it went straight to VM and so you can imagine my surprise when I was told they had 0 trucks to give me. How?! Apparently, Budget constantly has inventory glitches online, screwing many people over. The guy said "Look I tried to call you three times! The phone went to a company!" I said, yes obviously a company because we are a company and we needed this truck. It happened to be a bike tour weekend and almost all other rental places were sold out. I then traipsed all over Long Island going from rental to rental to finally find the LAST one way Penske truck that I secured within 10 minutes and picked up. If I could give Budget less stars, I would. They almost caused us costly expenses in moving workers, our current lease office, and my time. Sucks. They are called Budget for a reason and they are DEFINITELY not worth it.

Great customer service! Reserved truck to move daughter’s belongings after college graduation. Truck was ready for pickup early, equipped with EZ PASS for tolls to Maryland. Kevin was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Been to this location twice. Both on a Sunday. Helpful, friendly... I made a mistake on he reservation day, no problem, the attendant got me in and out quickly in the truck I needed. Things rarely make sense, people rarely exercise it, but this place? Just good sensible people giving you what you pay for, no nonsense.
