Building Bridges Preschool

The teachers and directors of Building Bridges are phenomenal! In fact we chose BB for our son because Ms Susan was the director many years ago of our daughter's preschool. We knew if we followed Ms Susan to BB that we would not be disappointed---and we were right. Our son attended BB for two years and flourished under their care and guidance. Ms Lisa and Ms Nicole are creative, intelligent and fun-loving teachers who helped our son learn to love school. They truly appreciate each child's uniqueness and encourage the children to respect each other and work as a team. The entire BB family is welcoming and passionate about what they do. By far the best preK experience we have had in all our years in Brooklyn Heights.

I can’t say enough about this wonderful school. Our older daughter went through both the 2s and 4s classroom and our younger daughter is currently in the 2s program. In 3 years, my husband and I have been extraordinarily impressed with the quality and commitment of the directors and teaching staff. Our children have come home each day excited, enthusiastic and happy as a result of their days at Building Bridges. The Directors, Susan and Jen, not only know each and every childs name , but they take the time to know the individual child and family members as well. And the PreK teachers Ms Lisa and Ms Nicole are two of the most wonderful, nurturing, creative and charismatic educators I’ve ever met. They truly love what they do and as a result the children they teach just adore them. The curriculum at this Preschool is educational, fun and engaging but also really helps to develop a child’s socialization skills at a young age. We would and have recommended this school to any and all of our friends.

I couldn't be happier but give a 'two thumbs up' recommendation for Building Bridges in Brooklyn Heights, NY. Our first son just started his second year with BB in the 3's program, after completing his first in the 2's plus a full month of summer camp. My wife and I are delighted with the school and the positive results we see in our son's learning and socialization. We are especially pleased with the kind and engaging teachers, the interesting/challenging curriculum as well the attention BB gives to helping groom the children to be good young student/participants inside and outside the classroom. We plan on sending our second child when he is ready to enroll in the 2's as well. Founder/Directors Susan and Jennifer have our highest confidence and conviction when we leave our son with BB each and every morning. I highly recommend BB to any prospective parents looking to enroll their child in a leading Brooklyn-based preschool. Plus the central and transit friendly location makes it easy for working parents to drop off the child before heading to work.

My family and I have been fortunate to know Sue and Jen, the founders of Building Bridges Preschool, since 2015 when my older daughter started in their 2s program. As a stay at home mom, my daughter was used to being with me all the time and I was concerned about her transition to a new environment without me there. Fortunately, I had absolutely nothing to be worried about. Sue, Jen and the wonderful teachers at Building Bridges made the transition to preschool as smooth as possible. My daughter loved the time she spent at Building Bridges and I cannot imagine a warmer, more nurturing environment to prepare her socially and academically for Pre-K. When it was time for my younger daughter to enter a 2s program, there was no question where I would send her. Both my daughters genuinely loved their teachers and learned a tremendous amount from them. We have since moved out of state but I will forever treasure the time we spent at Building Bridges.

We could never give Building Bridge all the praise that it deserves. Susan and Jen have created a rich, warm environment that truly brought out the best in our daughter. She attended the preschool for two years and started Kindergarten on a solid academic footing but more importantly with confidence and a keen emotional awareness. The teachers are phenomenal, committed, caring, and intelligent. All future teachers in the many years to come will be measured against Ms Monica, Ms Nicole, and Ms Lisa “Pizza”. Recently, our daughter turned a box into a time machine with the express purpose of going back a year to be Ms Lisa’s student once again. Choosing a school for your little ones is tough, but you can choose this one with total confidence. We will always look back with fondness and gratitude.

Building Bridges is a magical place. My son has been there for the past 3 years and it has been so wonderful to see how he has grown socially and emotionally over this time. The culture is very loving, supportive and engaging. Most importantly, they know your child. And with that knowledge, they make a tremendous effort to be sure your child is getting their needs met. The teachers take an individualized approach to learning and understand that each child may engage and view the world slightly differently and they endeavor to reach each child in that place. My son is so connected with the staff and teachers as well as the friends he has made. There is a real sense of community and care. My son is a sensitive child and since the beginning he has been excited to go to school ever morning, he knows he is cared for and loved here.

Both of my kids attend this preschool 2s room and pre-K room, and one of them also attended last year as well in the 3s room. The curriculum is excellent, the teachers are kind, knowledgeable, and focused. The administration is engaged and very supportive of the parents and teachers. My kids are so excited to go to school every day - they literally run in and don't even say goodbye. They are learning so much, but it's wrapped up in a fun package. I am so glad we decided to send our kids here.

We can not speak highly enough of this preschool. They have taken such amazing care of our two children - my only regret is that we didn't discover it sooner! The school is lovely with a family feel to it and the staff are quite simply amazing. Warm, caring, knowledgable and totally invested in making school work for each individual child. I would give more stars if I could and I have absolutely no hesitations in recommending the school or any of the classes to anyone considering a preschool for their 2 - 5 year old.

Watching our two girls come of age under their watchful; attentive, loving, and most importantly JOYFUL care, has made for many of our fondest memories during this most special time in our lives. Our home is literally bursting with the art and expression that is so abundantly integral to the Building Bridges ethos; and our girls have always enthusiastically skipped with anticipation to drop-off; this is how good Building Bridges is.
