I'm not a golfer, but had a blast with some of my kids and a couple of buckets of golf balls at the rang. Extras clubs of all kinds are available at the range. Driving, chipping and a very comfortable atmosphere made this a very pleasant experience.
Please bring cash for tips because the credit card machines were probably built before credit cards and the employees cant get tipped. Had a great time on this Par 3 course. Finished in 3 hours and 15 minutes and no holes over 190 from the white tees so you can leave the big sticks in the trunk. Very few places to lose balls as well. Course is great exercise, no golf carts unless you have a disability. Branch overhanging #13 fairway really needs to go, unless you want to cut a club left to right, have it bounce into the upslope, and then come to a stop on the elevated green. Not fair, and actually less fun.
We played this course for the first time yesterday. We loved it! However, we had a bad encounter with a rude person playing behind us. As we were finishing up hole 3, he yelled at us to speed up because we were slowing them down. However, we had to either wait for the group in front of us to finish or the group in front of us was just walking off the green when we were ready to tee off at the next hole. So there was no way for us to “speed it up.” Not sure if this was just a one off or if there is a lot of rude people that play here.
As a beginner golfer Burke Lake Park Golf is a great course as it's a PAR 3. A couple of holes you have to hit over water, but the course overall is not very challenging. The only thing I didn't like is it's a WALKING COURSE - NO CARTS. So if you decide to play just keep that in mind. Rick Starter, Jennifer and Judy in the Pro Shop were great. Burke Lake Golf new clubhouse opened in October 2017 and the double decker driving range opened in April 2017. Small touches like the hook for the ball baskets help. There are classes offered. In the pro shop they have a nice selection of clothing, shoes and clubs. There are also clubs if you are looking to play with other golfers. Review provided by Jennifer V-E Johnson
Great little par 3 with a great staff and nice layout for beginner golfers. Not many sand traps to help speed of play and ones they have are there top avoid the ball from rolling far from greens. Nice to play year round
Fun little par three course. Good to practice short irons. Course was not in good shape but still fun to play. Greens were slow and some in need of repair. Practice range is nice.
Great golf course for beginners and people looking to work on their short game. Have never had a problem at this course until this past Sunday. We set a tee time at 7:50 and when we got to the course it was empty. Me and my partner were playing at a normal pace and halfway through the front 9 we noticed another group two holes behind us. An employee named Rick decided to come and watch us play while badgering us to speed up our pace of play. This was completely unprofessional and Rick was also being very rude. We payed for 18 holes and a beautiful morning experience but instead had Rick following us around the entire back 9. This is a municipal par 3 course, not the US open, I’d expect a more casual experience. The course was empty and he had nothing better to do? Not sure
This park is a Fairfax County treasure. I haven’t played the 18 hole course, but it looks nice, and was busy on a Friday morning. The driving range is brand new and great. I think I paid $18 for 120 balls. There is also a nice mini golf course. There is a snack bar at the pro shop. My boys and I 7-12 rode the 4.7 mile trail around the lake. It’s not paved, but it’s very well maintained. I wouldn’t quite call it mountain biking. It was flat and shady. Joggers and pedestrians were the primary users today, so if biking, best to keep it under 10mph. You can also rent aluminum boats to go out on the water. Only electric motors are allowed. Not sure if motors are available for the rental boats. I did see a family out on a large dual console with the outboard up, but getting around silently with the trolling motor, so I guess that’s allowed.
I'm not a big golfer but my son told me about this course. If you like a local and fair priced golf course, this will meet your expectations. Large driving range area and 18 holes all par 3. Staff was very friendly and area is well maintained.
Our favorite course locally. Fantastic driving range and putting help me work on my fundamentals. The course is well designed and fun to play when I don't hit a tree. A full round is a great workout here as you will be pushing, pulling or carrying your clubs. No carts. The water hazards are challenging. Every round has me wanting to come back to work out the trouble spots.
