I love this store. It is a bit pricey on some items but I take advantage of the military discount. I went in today to purchase bear mace for my upcoming hiking trip to MN. Super friendly and helpful stuff. Clean store. My daughter enjoyed the fish tank. Lots of clothing and outdoor gear. Good firearm selection as well. I recommend going here! Went here again with a friend. Always a good store to go too!
Huge place with thousands of items for camping, fishing, hunting, and home goods too. Spend a few hours just looking at the taxidermy and merchandise and feel like you're outside. Fair on prices with good sales otherwise a bit relative to other stores and online Sierra, Columbia, Eddie B, etc
Cabela’s is a nice place to visit, when your trying to kill time or actually if your the avid hunter or fisherman. You can find almost anything and everything here at Cabela’s, sometimes you’ll even run into good deals that are hard to pass up.
Purchased a handgun online. While reading over their policies in my confirmation email, it was stated if the address on my driver's license is not the most current, I would need to bring in an additional government-issued ID vehicle registration, hunting license, voter ID card, etc. to confirm my address. I went to Cabela's the next day to pick up my handgun, and I brought my vehicle registration with me. Unfortunately, this was today Black Friday and the lines to look at guns were ridiculous. I got a brief moment to ask the person behind the counter if I needed to pick a number if I was just there to pick up an order that I'd already purchased. He told that I did. I added myself to the queue and waited, and waited, and waited. I saw a few employees standing around doing nothing for a few minutes, which was really frustrating. Someone finally asked me if I'd meant I was there to pick up an order I'd already purchased, and I confirmed I was. He then got his colleague to assist me. I provided my driver's license to the gentleman helping me, and he asked why I brought in my vehicle registration. I explained to him that it was to confirm the address on my order since the address on my license wasn't current. He explained to me that he can't do anything with the paperwork I brought in. I pulled up Cabela's confirmation email and read him the policy regarding additional government IDs in these scenarios and told him that if that was not the case, Cabela's needs to stop sending out these emails. He tried to do a few things in their system and then just told me he's unable to change my address. I'm not sure what that meant considering I've changed it with local law enforcement and voting districts. I'm not sure where he was trying to change my address. He told me to come back when my license was updated, which I told him wouldn't be until 2025. I ended up having to cancel my order. It was extremely frustrating that I drove 45 minutes, waited in line for no reason, follow the instructions provided by Cabela's, and was still told I was unable to bring home the handgun I purchased. I won't be attempting to purchase from them again.
Overall it’s a decent store with lots of inventory and options but has anyone else noticed that most guys who work in the firearms department don’t know much about firearms, are grumpy and their customer service skills are poor?Especially over the phone… A lot of times both when I call and come in to the store I get really short answers and sometimes no answers at all as if what I’m asking is too much work for them to look into… It’s frustrating when I want to know if something is in stock or something I ordered came in but I am told “probably not”. I understand short staffing and long lines makes things difficult but seriously. I stopped in the other day just to check a few things out. I had to join the line in the digital que. I was number 25 at 330pm. I ended up leaving at 415pm. At 545pm I received a text saying I was next in line just to talk to someone behind the counter…. 2 hours and 15 minutes??? I think there should be a re-evaluation of the customer service and processes at the gun counter. I can’t wait around for 2 hours whenever I go… I’ve spent thousands of dollars at this store and expect it to be better for the customers…
When I went in I expected to only pick something up and then leave. But when I arrived I was surprised to see how large the place truly was. When I looked around I was enticed at the massive catalogue of the items I had seen, and I felt as though I was a kid again, wandering in awe with the scenery and variety. I was so deep in thought about the possibilities that were achievable with the binoculars, that I’d nearly forgotten what I had come for. Also the employees were friendly and helpful. 10/10 would stare at the binoculars again.
Not just the store but an experience in nature. Great for the whole family and makes an excellent time to go shopping for anything to do with nature and camping and kids. Prices are good and people are fantastic
Fun family experience. So many animal mounts are set up uniquely. Great selection of anything outdoor. Friendly staff to guide you.
Up until recently, I enjoyed going to this location. My son and I drove about an hour to get there to get new scope mounts and have them mounted and scope bore sighted while we were there. They informed us that they didn't have anyone to do it that night as they can't do it past 8 but if we come before 8 we'll be good to go, they added, call ahead just to make sure. The next week, we called around 3-4 pm to make sure they would be available to get everything set. They informed us that they would, and it would be no problem. We made the drive again. Once we got there, they completely changed their story and told us they do NOT have anyone that can do it, and we should have called to make sure. The guy I talked to called someone else, I assume a manager, he said the same, and they had no one to do it. I started to ask why we were told to come if they wouldn't have anyone there, which is when guy 2 decided he would turn his back on us and walk away. I haven't seen service this bad in a very long time. My son was excited to tour the store and check things out, but after he saw that, he said he'd rather not give them any more of our time. We left, I doubt we'll ever shop there again. * Edit. They asked me to email them in this review but then never responded to it. Looks like this biz is going down hill.
The fishing gear was well stocked. Staff will look up status of items that may be in inventory but not yet on the racks. Lots of displays of fish and animals throughout the store, including a walkthrough aquarium - will entertain whole family.
