I've loved in the Charlotte for way too long to have not been to Cabo Fish Taco. I hear mixed reviews... either folks raving over it or being less than impressed. I was hoping for more, especially considering the prices, but I see why those who like it, love it! The flavors were lacking a bit on the meat, but the veggies were extremely tasty! Parking: Depending on when you come, parking is limited, but the area is super cute so walking is quite enjoyable
Cool, Funky, and great vibe at Cabo Fish Taco. Chips and Salsa was delicious. Salsa had a nice little kick. Washed down with a cold brew, a great way to start. Fish and Shrimp tacos were superb. Tasty, and the fixins were delicious . Excellent service from an outstanding staff.
I've lived in Charlotte for 9 years and have only visited this place once. Honestly I was not pressed to go back. A friend wanted to grab tacos on a Wednesday night so we went. We arrived around 7:45 and the place was not packed. We decided to sit at the bar. The Tequila selections were skimp I assume due to the shortage. Brandon worked the bar. He was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. I ordered The Lemon Grilled Shrimp and Soy Ginger Shrimp Tacos. My friend ordered the BBQ Mahi and Soy Ginger Shrimp Taco as well. My side of choice was mashed potatoes. I must say I was very impressed. It was so good! Let's just say I wont wait another 5+ years to visit again. I will be putting this place in my regular rotation.
Love the way Cabo prepares/serves its tortilla shells!! The grilled mahi mahi and the grilled salmon tacos were amazing. My wife REALLY enjoyed the beer-battered tofu taco. There's definitely something for everyone here at Cabo and the service can only be described as "southern style friendly".Dine in: YesTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
This is hands down the best taco joint, and that says something when there are tacos everywhere. I have never had a bad meal here over the last two decades. This time I had salmon and calamari tacos, both amazing. The margaritas are killer too. comida fantastica!
Service is attentive and friendly, great neighborhood/location. Ordered the barbecue salmon tacos and they were just okay. Good portion of protein, but a bit over cooked. Rice and beans were okay. Love that they give complimentary chips and salsa once seated
Honestly just not my style of Mexican. It's more texmex than Mexican or American style Mexican. The foods okay nothing to brag about portions are okay some of the offerings are overpriced for the portion. This time we got the salmon and shrimp and they were better than other dishes I've tried in the past. The table we got sat at wasn't clean. Our waiter didn't really check on us so I didn't even get a water refill. Parking: Parking is a pain in NoDa even the paid parking
Cabo Fish Taco is one of Charlotte's heralded restaurants that's still around. They serve good tacos and have the classic assortment of huge flavored margaritas. I had some solid tacos based on our waitresses recommendation. My one warning would be to use caution if you order anything blackened, as it was almost hard to eat. Other than that, the food was delicious and the vibe was great and it is located in a cool area on the main part of NoDa, so I would definitely recommend a visit.
I always stop by Cabo Fish Taco when visiting or passing NC. It’s just that good. Affordable, delicious and most importantly their vibes are just a killer. They offer good variety of tacos with unique flavors. Love their drinks, too, it complements the food flawlessly.
We stopped in on our way to Winston-Salem and had a pleasant experience. This is the flagship restaurant in NoDa. We were not super excited with the food we ordered but we were not disappointed either. We ordered the salsa trio and I was expecting to see chunky salsas with pineapple and mango chunks or tomatillo tomato bits but it was puréed. The roasted red tomato salsa tasted like marinara. The green tomatillo salsa was ok. We added hot sauce to each. We also ordered and shared a steak fajita. The steak was cut into tiny bird size pieces like it belonged in a burrito or taco, and the peppers and onions were sparse. We liked the tortillas but were disappointed in the lack of steak and fresh veggies. Overall I would go back and perhaps try one of the fish specialties. Service was good and the IPA was excellent.
