It was noted that the food is the same quality as Palace of Asia. The food and service are unfortunately not the same quality. The food was ordered over the phone. The woman who took the order was uninformative and acted as if her time was being wasted by my placing the order and after I waited on hold for some time. It was requested to have a dish mild or without hot spice, she told me that none of their dishes are without spice except one cooked in yogurt and curry. I was informed that all dishes are pre-made at medium spice. We received our food without rice and the garlic Naan without garlic. When I called back to discuss the woman stated that the restaurant was too busy for her to have informed me that the dishes do not come with rice and rice has to be ordered separately. She also informed me that it was on me that I called during a time that the restaurant was busy. The kitchen was blamed for the garlic Naan and she stated that our family member could drive 30 minutes back to the restaurant for rice. I asked her if she would drive 30 minutes for rice, she told me that she has to go now. The dishes are fairly large portions that could feed 3 -4 ppl one good serving per dish. The pepper chicken is very spicy, level 5 spicy and although you can feel the spice it lacks the bold flavor that is supposed to accompany it. The vegetable Samosas are large but bland, no spice at all. The butter chicken is about a 3 in spice and has some mild tandoori taste. The Aloo Palak was not blended fully, had no spice and lacked the known flavors that make the dish such a favorite. Overall the food is nice but it doesn't meet the standard, the customer service is extremely lacking and I would choose to try another place next time we are in the area again.
This was my first time having Indian cuisine and I was NOT disappointed. I ordered the chicken marsala curry with yellow rice and garlic naan. Soooooo delicious! The waiter was super sweet and helped me order my food and made it into a combo. I mean check our food pics out and see for yourself. Vegetarian options: Fried vegtable pocket Kid-friendliness: They ensured to provide non spicy sauces for the kiddos
Hands down, one of the best Indian restaurant to eat. I would say comparing it with 50 different Indian restaurants, this is by far the best. Not sure why people gave it a 3.8. So, if you like spicy food go for level 6, level 7 is almost to hot. Quantity is also large, much more than other places. Also the service was excellent !!!
We got the dinner for 2 combo. I ordered butter chicken, it tasted like a bunch of spices in one spoonful. Worse butter chicken I’ve had so disappointed. I don’t even eat spicy so I have no idea why it was spicy to begin with. I know butter chicken is sweet & creamy this was not it! Than the garlic naan tasted like dough with no flavour. We spent $96 a dinner for 2 and we didn’t even finish it! Waste of money!!! I know this is Hawaii and rare to find authentic food but for the price it’s totally not worth it! So sad we ordered and didn’t even eat it, now we’re hungry & ending at McDonald’s ‍ Our takeout bowls are still full and placed in the fridge so it doesn’t stink our trash. Can I get a refund ?!!
The food was excellent! First time trying Indian cuisine loved it!!! BYOB. Friendly wait staff, cozy restaurant with colorful ambiance. Will definitely return The picture is our leftovers, we were stuffed!!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: No
My favorite Indian restaurant on Oahu Island at least until I find another one. I ordered four entrees: Chicken Masala Curry, Chicken Tikka Curry, Pepper Chicken Curry and Chicken Vindaloo. Warning, if you don't eat spice, don't order Chicken Vindaloo and Pepper Chicken Curry; they are spicy, and I love them! The restaurant opens at 5 PM daily, only for dinner. I wish they'd open for lunch. The restaurant is generous enough to take orders before 5 PM and pick up afterwards. The place was full when I went in to pick up my meal. Also, the portions are large enough for two people or two day.
The price went up 20% each menu. Apr2022. I ordered Chai tea but tasted too bitter and old, not fresh. asked a staff It was wired taste and she tried, she said something wrong with the chai tea, she waived the tea for me and I did not want to drink the tea any more. I ordered a Lassi in stead of the chai tea. tastes ok, but price was wrong. I asked them again, they said they didn't change the price on the menu book, but the price went up already. I had bad experience at this time. Their food is very delicious but they don’t know what they are missing. I love their Prawn Saag: Prawn shrimp spinach curry. I got Combination Dinner Special for Two $49. One appetizer and two entrees with rice and naan. That was a lot of food! Very delicious and reasonable.
The food is great. I have been visiting this place for years. Almost 5 years. Vegetarian options: Nice selections Kid-friendliness: Yup. Just make sure your kid is well behaved. Or everybody will STOP & STARE. lol Parking: Good luck with that. RIDDLE " I suggest park on the other side. " Riddle me this Batman. But, you haven't heard that from me.
Ive eaten here a few times, both take out and dine in. The practice of not taking reservations makes it a huge waste of time because you'll wait an hour plus. In my opinion and I've been to India a couple times and am familiar with the cuisine, the food is good. Obviously it's just your typical Americanized Indian menu, which is fine. But the price is startling, and the process of dining there is pretty much a dealbreaker. Many Indian restaurants pre-cook the food in advance, and finish the job just prior to serving it, as another reviewer complained. But I don't think that's so uncommon in the USA. BYOB is nice, imo. Pretty cramped space. Not a ton of great alternatives nearby for Indian.
When we reached there we had 2 groups ahead of us and it took them 1.5 hours to clear this line. Inefficient seating plan inside the place. there were empty seats and people were still waiting. Owner/ staff are very friendly. We ordered Yellow Dal, Shahi Paneer, Naan Bread and Saffron rice. Everything was delicious; not too spicy. As we were the last table they were serving for the day the owner offered leftover shahi paneer it was a lot for free. Decent place and service overall but be prepared to wait. I would rather order in advance to carry out.
