I’m not usually one to leave reviews because I work in customer service, but I am thoroughly upset. My partner and I ordered two steak tacos and the sweet pork nachos. My partner’s tacos are fine, but my nachos were messed up. The first order, no cheese and covered in lettuce like a salad. I called and spoke to Nicole, don’t know if she’s just a service representative or someone there, but she said we could get it remade if we told them what was wrong. My partner drove back and tried to correct the order, to which the manager made them wait in line again, and pay for the remake. My partner brings the order home, and it’s yet again messed up. I get it, they came back before closing. But absolutely bombing it with SALAD dressing? Really? We just wasted $22 dollars on food I’m not gonna eat because it’s simply just not correct. I’m very upset because I understand the industry very well; but this screams “I hate my job and I don’t care”. Because your store was closing, my partner really couldn’t correct you and they trusted you wouldn’t put salad toppings on the order again after informing you. I know sometimes customer complaints can be upsetting, and someone coming close to closing time is also upsetting, but it’s really unfair to top an item with something it’s not supposed to have, and charge for it when you know it’s not meant to be on there.
I've worked at Cafe Rio for two months now and I've enjoyed my experience, free food on breaks is always a treat, and I find myself ordering pick up on my days off. My family has loved the food for years, all the options bring in unique flavors yet delicious thanks to their fresh ingredients. Can't wait for my next meal, highly recommend trying their new pollo asada. Kid-friendliness: The staff take time and listen to the kids orders and treat them with respect. Parking: Great parking, Spacious and accessible. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, mini ramps to access the front of the building through the parking, and spots reserved for disability certified. Dietary restrictions: Their menu is straightforward and easy to read, with eligible options for your personal dietary restrictions.
Ordered a tostada and some guac. The staff is friendly, but when I got to eating my food, the guac does not look fresh starting to oxidize, and the core of the lettuce head was in my salad! The horchata isn't a smooth consistency. I wish I got a refund for my meal. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.
I use to go everyday at cafe Rio, because I really like the manu and it looks healthy for me. I’ve been at couple of the units, and some of them looks the same. The attendants are always in a bad mood, and they don’t give attention for what we order. Than they prepare your food in the wrong way that we didn’t order and it has to be waste. It’s a pity, but I keep trying to visit some others units to try to be better served. Any way, as I said, I like this restaurant food. I hope you can try to improve the servers training! Thanks
It’s been to long, I had a huge and delicious burrito that was loaded and so filling. The staff was super friendly and I’m definitely coming back
Nice staff ample parking for downtown, very well executed. A bit of flys inside but nothing serious. If you have a lowered car be careful going in the parking lot it’s steep.
I was there on 08/30/22 at 8:30pm. While I was going through the line the cashier handled a homeless man's cash transaction. When I was paying the kid asked me what meat I got in the tacos. I told him one shredded chicken and one sweet pork. He then put his hands inside the tacos and dug through the lettuce and pico to visually confirm the meat. Although he was wearing gloves he should not be sticking his fingers in the food after handling cash and touching the computer screen with the same gloves.
I just wanted to share my great experience tonight. Everyone was in a good mood, the guys behind the counter were amazing and friendly and I just left with a smile. It wasn't one thing, it was the whole enchilada. This was at the 400 south location. I'll come back for sure and I recommend. Really great vibe they got going here. Vegetarian options: They got a bean and rice burrito, and while it is delicious I would recommend that more veggies could be added to make this closer to a vegetarian masterpiece.
I have always loved Cafe Rio and recently moved into the area. I love the food however when ordering my usual salad they never let the juice from the black beans or the sweet pork drain a little before adding it. This result in my salad being really soggy and greasy at the bottom. Usually I see employees wait a second for all the liquid to drain but here they go too fast and end in a puddle of bean juice and meat grease on the tortilla.
The food used to be better here. The pulled pork isn't as delicious as it used to be and is a little lacking in flavor. The service here is wonderful and the people are nice, but the food standards have been dropping. Been noticing that at a lot of cafe Rios, so maybe it's corporate
