Calavan's Pool & Spa

I see some questionable reviews and have to wonder about unrealistic expectations. I contacted them for warranty work on my Hayward system and they were able to get me squared away. It took a few visits because it was an elusive problem. They involved some additional technicians and got my pool back up and running and with no charge. Sometimes it took a few days to hear back from them but I’ll attribute that to the 4th of July holiday and because the local Hayward person was out on vacation for a bit. If you are concerned about the other reviews at least give them a chance. Definitely recommend. EDIT: to add during the time while my original motherboard was fried and when they got the correct part, he installed a temporary board with some reduced features to allow me to be able to run the pump and keep the pool clean. Unexpected, and welcomed!

I suggest getting your pool water tested free at your local pool store before agreeing to Caravan's verbal recommendations. It may save you money. It will also validate if their weekly services are trustworthy. On 3/28/18, I had another issue and asked Larry to site. His workers took apart three filters for cleaning and suddenly all three leak and quotes more money to fix. Workmanship issue or equipment issue? Time to go out to bid? June 2018 SNHD Violation and fine.

So to start off I was having issues with my previous pool providers, and I have two houses that need servicing in the valley, another pool servicer referred me to Calavan's. In the beginning it seemed they were very adamant and caring about the service which was going to be provided, the owner Larry had personal contact with us. It has been 2 months since i've started service with them and I've got to say i'm quite disappointed. I entertained their 1500$ + worth of fees to "repair" my pools. Mind you one of the houses for sale so I took care of whatever was necessary. For some reason the acid has the pool locked up on the house that is for sale and it needed to be drained. Calavan's for whatever reason, first told me they needed to get "approval from the city" since we are on septic. Then a week later no word I call them and ask them what is going on, i'm literally showing the house WEEKLY the pool can not be in such a horrible condition. They refer me to another person who sends me a bid for 2000$ .... wow, so of course I decline they say "we will figure it out" and never respond. They never answer the phone, they are poor on emailing me back. I had to call another pool company to come and remedy the issue and am switching servicers immediately. Also, when I informed them I was canceling services they didn't bother to question why, they just said ok, we will email you a confirmation, and yet, still waiting on the email :

Horrible company, do yourself a favor and stay away. They were supposed to drain, clean and fill my pool. Larry was the person who came to my house to estimate the work. The work started later than schedule and got delayed. By the time the pool was empty and had to be refilled I had to leave town for the weekend. Larry notified me that they do not fill pools and I should fill it myself. He also informed me that since it’s a fiberglass pool it can pop out of the ground if it stays empty. He never informed me of that before we started and never informed me that they do not fill pools. All this time he led me to believe that Calavan’s Pool and Spa will handle this A to Z. I found myself instead of going out of town having to stay home and filling my pool. Since then the I called Larry left texts and voicemails. He never got back to me. now I’m stuck with a full pool that is still needs to be washed and drained. He lied to me about them acid washing the pool. And he never told me I was to be the one filing the pool. Horrible and irresponsible person.

Filled with hard working employees that help me figured what was wrong with my pool and spa motor and pumps. Larry and everyone else that came by did an excellent job, I will definitely be going to them everything.

Larry is brilliant and his staff is awesome.
