Providing quality autobody repairs for the residents of South Louisiana for over three decades.
How did we get our name? The shop began in southern California during the heyday of the airbrushed conversion vans (Remember the Star Wars murals on vans in the 70s?). Bruce McKay started the shop when he was in high demand as an airbrush muralist, and was invited to New Orleans to spray a few vehicles for the World of Wheels event in the Superdome. Seeing that the demand was high, and his skills were unique, he decided to set up shop in Harvey, LA in 1976— and so began California Customs.
At a time when Manhattan Blvd was relatively void of businesses, California Customs was established, and perpetuated a California stucco and palm tree style that is very prevalent on the street today. As business grew, and capabilities expanded, the company added more work bays and an additional paint shop wing to keep up with the growing demand for quality automotive repair and paint.
Today the shop is still located on Manhattan Blvd in Harvey, across from The Sam's Club, and is ready and willing to take on your late model vehicle repairs.
