About

The Cambridge Center for Adult Education (CCAE) provides memorable learning experiences for adults right in the heart of Harvard Square.

Story

CCAE provides accessible education to all members of the community, and we are committed to the concept of life long learning enriched by students and faculty of different racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, religious, and economic backgrounds.

The Cambridge Center is one of the broadest ranging and most innovative centers for adult education in the country, and serves over 20,000 students per year, with courses, lectures, conferences, performances, and public exhibitions.

Our classes range from poetry to cooking to ESL to carpentry to playwriting to home repair to jazz singing to world affairs (visit www.ccae.org to see the complete range of our offerings!) Our classes and events are open to all adults. We give over $100,000 in scholarships annually while maintaining our landmark presence in the heart of Harvard Square.

I highly recommend any course taught by Leon Steinmetz. He is of Russian birth, and knows and loves Russian literature. His enthusiasm spreads to the class. I've taken three courses from him and will sign up for a 4th Turgenev. I might add that he is adept at getting everyone in a class to join in discussions.
I have been taking courses at CCAE for about 8 years now and it has become an integral part of my life. Wonderful teachers. Wonderful community of serious students - especially the music appreciation group! Run efficiently. I also appreciate the Thursday morning lectures.
Great for low cost great classes to expand your mind. I've tried there drawing class & an art history class. Both had excellent content, for a great price.
My first exposure to CCAE was when I took a course in abstract art and later painting landscapes. Sheila Rice & Anthony Riccardi are exceptional art teachers. My experience with CCAE is quite satisfactory.
Awesome experience learning photography and Spanish there!
I took a couple of dance classes and languages! great place to learn and interact with people!
