I had a very traumatic experience, but through it all the staff at CAMC shown bright. They where the most polite and helpful people I've ever had the pleasure of receiving care from. BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO CARED FOR ME!!! I'm greatfull for your manners respect and kindness.
We had to first of all leave my mother-in-law in the ER for two days before getting a room. The ER P.A. that was on duty, told my brother-in-law that they would most likely be sending his 89 year old mother home that night after discovering she had a broken arm. Things seemed to start to get better when they decided, after refusal to take her home, and got her a room on 3 South. That night, as her son stayed with her throughout the night, she began to begin hallucinating and became quite distraught, unlike her normal demeanor. She proceeded to remove her upper dentures and throw them across the room. They were found and put on an open napkin and played on the food stand. Someone from the hospital apparently threw them away because they were never seen again. She continued to be irate through the night. The next day her granddaughter was holding her hand and just happened to see that the name on her patient bracelet was incorrect. It was the same as the lady that was in the bed next to her. Without a doubt, she was given the wrong meds the night before which caused her strange behavior. She was later given some codene, which the hospital staff knew would cause her to begin itching and thus aggravate her condition. I feel that it should be quite clear why the family members have not been happy with the care she has received, as a whole.
This is by far the most unprofessional, unsympathetic, unorganized, and filthiest hospital in West Virginia. My 91 year old father has been in the hallway for over 25 hours. Asked when he would receieve a room they blew me off and said it could be 3 days. 3 days in a hallway?!? I wouldnt take a DOG HERE!
Camc is the best hospital I have ever been to I arrived with 13 broken bones both muscle and skin death on my left leg my kidneys had completely failed. I also had a slight brain bleed as well as bruised heart. Doctor James Mauer is in my opinion one of the best ortho doctors in the world today not only because of his excellent skill but he also generally cares for his patients. Dr Haiti I apologize if I misspelled the name is equally as good with kidneys. This hospital is a blessing thanks to you guys I not only lived but am as close to 100% as one can be after that type of accident. Thank you so much

I am in the er now waiting to be seen and a woman with her son came in she said her husband works in the er Dr. Mullens and her son has a hurt leg, he was actually walking fine and looking at his camera on his phone at his hair and fixing it, they took him in front of me and I can't walk. Talk about ethical.
I had an MRI done at CAMC General in the early evening. Everyone I spoke with was nice, helpful, and made sure I knew where I was going. I was able to check in immediately, was given the orders, and was able to get into the MRI area easily. I had wait of about 30 minutes after my appointment time due to someone else being directly ahead of me, but I've definitely had much worse waits. The MRI process was as expected, the techs were nice, and the sheets and machine were clean. My only complaint is the cost of parking. I was only there for about an hour and a half and the automated checkout of the parking lot charged me $4. Pretty high, especially for evening hours.
Father in law was taken here after a seizure and severe fall. He was restrained and ignored. They took 2 days to do an MRI after stating that there was only 3 people in front of him. Doctor won’t respond to anyone to tell us what the results of any tests have been. Nurses continue to buy time instead of confronting a worthless Doctor. Absolutely worthless staff.
Very bust lots of patience waiting to be seen in the ER. Staff seemed pre-occupied and otherwise uninterested in patience. Very dirty and unclean..
