Canon Hospice - New Orleans

Dealing with Cannon Hospice has been such a frustrating experience. I would not recommend this facility for your loved one and I will also be filing a formal complaint with the LA Dept of Health. After several disappointing instances with them the last straw was waiting for an ambulance to transport my mother who was very ill, we waited over 3 hours until we decided to call 911 ourselves & revoke their care. They were very limited in their resources to make my mother comfortable through this difficult time and blamed every symptom she was having on "disease progression" which we know now, after revoking Hospice care with them, her symptoms were manageable & not just disease progression. The purpose of Hospice is to make your loved one as comfortable as possible & they failed completely. My biggest regret is not switching providers sooner.

Not a great experience. No sympathy or compassion towards family members. Bed side manner and criteria is poor quality. Not very detailed or specific about the patients health. Family members deserve better than this. Criteria must change. I pray the next family wouldn't go through so much before their loved one is called home.

Excellent Care & Staff. Not a pleasant situation to be in, if you know what I mean. But the Staff makes it much easier. I would highly recommend Canon if a Loved One needs this kind of care. 5 Stars
