Capitol Pancake House

We have been coming to Williamsburg for a few years and have been meaning to stop here. Today we finally had an opportunity to stop in and check the place out. The place is outstanding. The location is convenient and has great views with windows surrounding the seating area. But, most of all the food was great!! The portions were huge and everything was prepared properly, hot and ready for eating. Coffee was great, and the service was excellent. Even was greeted by the owner who was very gracious,friendly, and welcoming. I was completely impressed with the establishment and would recommend to anyone. One last point, I'm a pretty big eater and could not finish my order. Needed a to go box. Have not eaten a breakfast so big and so good since I was a little kid at grandma's house down in the hills of West Virginia.

Great food with large portions. At first prices look steep but the portions make up for it. Friendly and fast service. Good coffee but its almost $3 a cup. For local customers you get 20% off. Has an old school dinner feel. Very cozy and great food a must check out place.

Let us get straight to the point. The steak omelette had no flavor and even with added table salt and pepper it didn't taste well for the price. The steak inside the omelette tasted like it was a day old steak that had been diced up for next day use, to include that the fatty parts of the steak were rough to chew. The half waffle that it came with was crunchy, I enjoy the crunchiness but I know other people prefer soft waffles but that was the part I enjoyed of the meal. The tableware has been past it's recommend service use but some say it adds character to the place, I'll let you decide. Apart from all, service is a roll of dice whether the server will affirm why she/he is correct or do as you politely request.

Food was good only complaint I have is the older gentleman sitting at the table behind me let out a fart as he was standing ready to leave and didn't say excuse me or even acknowledge that he did it rite as my food was arriving at my table. My waitress heard it and immediately ask if I wanted to move. Now I will say he was clearly over 70 and mat have had uncontrollable issues but this is Virginia, I'm black and he was white so I wonder but hope and did chalk it up to old people health issues.

The owners walk around and talk to the guests. The entire wait staff looks happy to be working. The food is delicious and served up in generous portions. The crowd is a mix of ages, races, and economic status. This place is simply amazing. I make it a point to have breakfast here whenever I'm in Williamsburg!
