Fantastic seafood restaurant with great oysters! We got the raw, spinach and bacon and the garlic Parmesan and they were all delicious. Cooked perfectly! We also got the NOLA mussels which were in this light creole sauce that was so good we got 2! Everything about Captain Groovy's is done with excellence. From the freshly shocked oysters to the perfectly steamed clams for appetizers. The half salad would be considered a full salad at most places. Had them Mac and crab and it was delicious. The drinks were cold and the service was great. Fried shrimp were perfectly cooked. This is one of those treasures in the Norfolk area.

A couple I met introduced me to Captain Groovy's and I'm so glad they did as my food was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The egg roll appetizer w/ the collard greens in them are so unique and full of yummy flavor, & my braised beef ribs melted in my mouth. Cool atmosphere, good price points and great service. This place has definitely been added to my favorites and will be visited whenever I'm in VA Beach!! $$$

She crab soup is the best I've had to date. I ended up getting 2 cups! Next time it will be a bowl. The prices are great and the service is on point! Shrimp basket was lightly fried and the romalade and cocktail sauce was great! Server Desiree was so attentive and was very friendly! Will be bringing the whole family back and there are a lot of us!

For being outside of Western New York, the wings were pretty good. The happy hour specials are legit, especially the buck a shuck oysters. Atmosphere was super laid back and cool. Highly recommend.Food: 4/5

Great restaurant. We enjoyed the calamari, oysters, spicy Diablo seafood pasta. Crabacake sandwich was great. Happy hour specials are good too!

delicious seafood and plenty of options. definitely try the calamari with wasabi honey sauce! the parking lot is small and often full, but there is auxiliary free parking across the street. the wait staff seemed overextended at our last trip, but they were still kind and pleasant. will definitely be back.Food: 5/5

I have visited this restaurant a few times. Wonderful food, haven't had a bad experience yet. Highly recommended. Pictured is the Voodoo wings & street tacos on happy hour special. And Tuna Sashimi.

We had a delicious lunch. With their incredible home made onion rings, crisp delicate batter, perfect seasoning. THE BEST ONION RINGS I HAVE EVER EATEN! All the food was completely delicious. Even having a waitress who didn't like us couldn't ruin the experience.

The fried and raw oysters were outstanding! $2 red strip and $4 Frogman! Our server Jennifer was the best!
