I’ve been coming to get my hair cut by Olivia for a while now and she always gives me the best cut that somehow lays perfectly all the time even with my cowlick and when I wear it naturally curly. This time, I decided to get a balayage, and Olivia gave me the most beautiful color. Her consultation was so thorough and she made sure she was giving me exactly what I wanted. Not to mention she’s a wonderful person and I always have a great time when I come to see her.

What a great salon! Everyone was super welcoming and made you feel at home. I stopped in real quick for a much needed haircut during a work trip and I was not disappointed! Isabella took care of me and gave me exactly what I asked for. She comminucated well and provided constructive feedback on what we could accomplish during the dreaded growing out process. Isabella took her time and requested my feedback on multiple occassions to ensure that I walked out happy. I will definitely be sure to stop in whenever I’m in Boston and I will definitely be rebooking with Isabella.

A quick trip into Boston. A windy day and was headed to dinner. I called to see if a stylist was available to curl my hair. So pleasant and took me right away. I ended up getting a blow out. It was wonderful. Fairly priced and was out the door in time. Thank you for refreshing me for the party.

Isabella was a magnificent stylist! She gave me a blonde refresh with no streaky highlights and did a blowout exactly how I requested prior to an event. I had a bad experience here. I asked Isabella to cut one inch off my hair and keep it at shoulder length my hair was slightly below shoulder length when I came in. She had me tilt my head down for the first 5-10 minutes of the cut, and so I couldn't see what she was doing. When she had me look straight ahead again and I could see myself in the mirror, I saw she had cut over four inches off my hair and it was at chin length, not shoulder length. At that point there was no turning back so I finished the cut. I wish I had refused to finish the cut or refused to pay right then and there but I felt uncomfortable complaining and thought I could deal with it. I thought about it more and later that day I called the salon and asked for a refund. The most they would offer me is a 50% refund and explained they needed the other 50% to cover business related costs from the cut, like for products and hourly wages. I'm sorry, but it's ridiculous to expect the customer to cover your business expenses from a service when the business made a big mistake and did something completely different from what I asked for. I know they can't fix a haircut when the problem is that it's too short, but since they couldn't fix it for me they should have given me a full refund or at least offered to comp a haircut for once my hair grows out again. I'm very disappointed in the quality of service from both my stylist and from salon management, especially considering the $75 price before tip.

The receptionist was the absolute sweetest! Everyone salon needs someone like him. The stylist were also so amazing they really brought my hair vision to life. Will definitely be coming here again:

Olivia is an amazing colorist! I came to her as a first time client in January looking for a color correction after receiving a poorly executed partial balayage at another Boston-based salon. Olivia helped me return to my natural brunette color while bringing out some of the balayage in the subtle, blended style that I was initially seeking. I would highly recommend Olivia!

I moved to Boston over the summer and was in need of a new hairstylist. I wanted somewhere convenient, so I chose to try this place and scheduled an appointment with Olivia Portegello based on the previous positive reviews. I am so glad I found her! She is so sweet, listens to what you want and just overall knows what she's doing. She did an amazing balayage for me today and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend her!

I just recently started going to Carbon Salon and have been satisfied each time I've gone. Yvonne is so so sweet and never fails to upset me with her service! The atmosphere is super welcoming with friendly staff. I highly recommend!
