Cardinal Camera

I highly recommend Cardinal Camera for the novice to the professional photographers. I’ve recently acquired the Sony A1 and had also purchased a Sony A7R IV some years ago from Cardinal Camera. We had some serious challenges due to the shipping company, which was no fault of Cardinal Camera. Kurt was extremely responsive and the staff at their Charlotte location were very hospitable. Cardinal Camera went above and beyond to ensure my experience, although difficult, was very exceptional. For this reason I went ahead and purchased a Sony 24-70 G-Master lens. For now on, they will have first dibs at my future business. The new Sony A1 is already earning the dollars and paying for itself. Thank you Kurt and the Ohio State guy never got his name at the Charlotte store!! -Cheers

Absolutely loved my experience at Cardinal. I initially traveled to charlotte for backdrop paper and ended up falling in love with the Sony Brand. TJ gave me the rundown of the camera and let me see it in action. 2 weeks later, I came back and made the purchase and was assisted by Conner who was also amazing and extremely helpful/honest. The owner Kurt was also very informative and attentive to my needs as I was traveling to the location. Highly recommend visiting Cardinal. They truly love their customers. They even gave my daughter a treat for being good during our visit

I am a local hickory photographer who just opened a studio and they have been an amazing resource to me. Kurt taught me the basics and then some in just an hour. He has a very relaxed style that makes him easy to understand. I will be a new faithful customer thanks to all of his and the other staffs help! Their recommendations, advice, classes, atmosphere, prices and equipment are all top tier!! They don't try and turn a profit at every corner either. I have been able to call and ask simple questions and get help over the phone. They also respond very quickly through text if they miss your call!

The service here is abysmal. During my visit, no one seemed overly concerned about providing customer support. The person that did finally attempt to help, did nothing more than try to sell me a new lens that was completely unsuitable for what I needed it for. I'm pretty sure they had no clue that I shoot professionally and know exactly what I'm looking for. This store also has a small selection of used lenses. But beware, those used lenses are being sold at new prices. $5-$10 less than buying new is not a deal. As far as gear, the prices are way higher than most other competitors. You'd be far better served by making a trip to Raleigh, NC and visiting Southeastern Camera or Peace Camera. The prices and customer service at both locations are superior to Cardinal Cameras.

My visits to Cardinal Camera are always satisfactory. Swann was super helpful in helping me find a replacement camera and lenses. They had everything I was looking for. Prices are comparable & fair. Employees are friendly & knowledgeable. If you ever have a short wait for service know it's because they assist each customer fully & completely. You will get the same respectful attention! Always check out Cardinal first for your photography needs! Highly recommend!

I rarely use film so I was happy to find there’s a camera store closer to me than the one downtown to get film developed, sadly I would have been much better off making the drive. Pretty basic service to develop 1 roll of film and email me digital copies but it’s been more than a week and I’ve not received anything. The few times I’ve done the same service at the other shop, I’ve received the email with digitals the same day if not before I even get home. When I called after 3 days I was laughed at and told that they send them out so it takes longer, which would still make it worth going to cardinal vs driving into the city but more than a week in this day & age is too long for $17. I’ll give them 2 stars because the person that helped me got to me quickly and was friendly enough though I’d have appreciated an explanation that film is sent out and/or an estimate on when to expect it but overall disappointed in my first experience with Cardinal Camera.

The gentleman that helped me was super nice was very informative on products noticed one of the lens filters I was going to buy was more expensive and was able to offer a cheaper option more in line with my skill set and budget. We had a conversation about where and what I like to take pictures of to provide better choices for me. I had a broken lens that I was trying to get fixed or replaced. He were able to provide a rough estimate of fixing the lens and replacement with new and used ones and have them in stock.

Everyone at Cardinal Camera was extremely helpful. They were able to print what I needed in a timely fashion which came out beautiful by the way, and they also safely shipped me a replacement print for one that got damaged. Everyone at the store was helpful and kind, provided us with great prices and treated us wonderfully. Would absolutely use them in the future!

Kurt, TJ, and Claire were awesome in helping find the right gear over the the last couple weeks. Picked up a Sony A7 III with a Sigma 100-400 with some accessories. They had the best deals that I could find anywhere, in person and online. Will definitely be returning for all my camera needs in the future!

Ordered a large 30 x 40 canvas print of a vacation photo. The folks at Cardinal Camera did a fantastic job! Image and print quality was perfect, and the care and professionalism in the mounting was exceptional. I had considered doing a canvas print for years but always backed off. Now I'm planning what other walls need new art!
