Great car buying experience. Being able to reserve a car and take it for a 24 hour test drive is huge. I love that they let you test drive the cars by yourself. No annoying salesperson in the car with you. Also, no pushy car salesman emailing/calling every day asking you to buy their car. Most other dealers laughed when I asked if they could hold a car for me for 24 hours. CarMax not only does that but will ship it for free to your local dealer if it's within 100 miles. Special shout-out to Mark C. My car was in good shape but after I took delivery I noticed a scratch on one of the wheels that was not there before. Mark understood the situation and reimbursed me for the cost to get it fixed. No other dealer would do that. Above and beyond customer service. The hands-off, laid back approach of CarMax is a much needed change from the typical pushy salesman that you get at other dealers.
My experience at CarMax in Waukesha was fantastic. For starters, I hate haggling prices and there is NONE of that at CarMax. The staff was helpful and friendly, listened carefully, made good suggestions, and provided an overall great car-buying experience. Highly recommended.
Jessica and Keenan made the process of buying a car easy. Everything was straightforward and I knew exactly what all the charges were. Very happy with the truck and with the car buying experience. Felt I was in good hands! The picture with the truck and bow was a great attention to detail!
The buying process was an easy stress free process but they do not inspect their vehicles very well or disclose all the issues. My car was way out of alignment and found it has some suspension damage due to hitting a curb/pot hole pretty severely. One wheel was replaced that has a different finish than the others likely done when the damage happened. Also they removed the carmax sticker for me but caused damage to the paint with the scraper. I would have returned it if it wasn't a relatively rare/low mileage car. It's nice they provide a warranty but based on my bit of experience I will avoid taking my car to them for anything.
While you pay more for the car it's definitely worth it. I was cautious about CarMax but found the car I wanted and had it transferred from Oklahoma, transfer was quicker than promised. While getting the car for the 24hr test drive the car had undisclosed damage, after pointing it out they made it right and had it repaired for no extra charge and refunded me my transfer fee. I had very minor issues with the car initially that were all covered under their 90 day warranty. Now I have had the car for several months and would without a doubt return to CarMax to buy another car. Friendly staff and technicians who listen to you.
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! In and out in roughly an hour! Worked with me despite being late bc I accidentally went to the wrong location Super understanding and patient with my anxiety! No pressure to buy!!! I love my new SUV; great price, low milage, super clean! Best experience while buying a vehicle ever. Cannot recommend enough!! Just phenomenal! I will never go anywhere else again!
My experience with the Waukesha CarMax team was great! Every team member was extremely accommodating and helpful, and made the process seamless. I would highly recommend considering them for your next car purchase or trade-in.
My daughter bought a car from Waukesha Carmax in June. Various problems with it, and when the engine light started flashing after only 6 months, they would not help us. Manager sat with no emotion unwilling to do anything. Finally took it to a dealer who did some warranty work on it. When we asked what the trade-in price was, they told us CarMax overpriced the vehicle and now we are about $10,000 underwater and only owned the car for 6 months. So disappointed, frustrated, and in shock about CarMax and their dealings.
Highly recommend!!! I had a great experience with Carmax, specifically the Waukesha location. Damien was very welcoming of my last-minute walk in attempt and expertly guided me through the whole process while making me feel very comfortable and valued as a customer. He genuinely cared about helping me find the right car and he, along with Jay and the rest of their team, made sure I would walk away with a great car and peace of mind. I could not recommend Damien and the Waukesha Carmax location more. And I love my car!
There is a loose cover similar to a hub cap on the driver’s side front wheel which we asked to have tightened before we picked up the vehicle. It was not taken care of so every time I drive the car the constant clanking annoys me. The mirror outside on the drivers side whistles when driving at highway speed. It took three weeks to get an appointment to bring it in so hopefully once I take it in the problems will be fixed. Also, there was a sticky substance on the visors, rear view mirror and latch of the front armrest that I had to clean off and the back seat was not thoroughly vacuumed. Otherwise we had a good experience. Update: The previously mentioned issues were resolved to my satisfaction by CarMax Waukesha. Matt in the service department was easy to work with and fixed the wheel cladding and the mirror. I am now a happy customer.
