very bad experience. They sent NO prep info - despite the doctor saying they would, and that the dr office didn't have that information. the lack of prep info led to an hour delay in my procedure. The intake/prep nurses were callous and uncaring, both causing a panic attack and not caring that I had one. The anesthesiologist was good, as was the aftercare nurse. The checkout was a joke. waited over 5 minutes in an empty waiting room and the desk staff never even acknowledged me, let alone checked to see if I had recovered enough to be safe to leave. I eventually just took the bracelet off and left, the followup contact was late and useless. cannot recommend.
I have to say....great staff...A+ procedure done, no pain, no drowsiness, and nice and clean...A+ took one star away because they didn't forward my results to the referring provider/primary care. Other than that, I am already recommending this facility for any and all endoscopic care.
The doctor did the basic task he was supposed to do. After, he told me to google foods that I could eat for GERD even though google gives you conflicting opinions. Why go to a doctor if I can just go to google? I had to ask to be prescribed medicine as I was experiencing significant discomfort. Here comes the worst part, I was sent a bill to cover the cost of the faculty, and a separate fee for each doctor and service. The most annoying part is that you have to call different different billing departments about each bill. If you can go somewhere else, do it. One year later and I'm still being sent random bills - $45 to cover something my insurance denied. This practice is unorganized and money hungry- they don't actually care about patients. It's a well oiled machine. 15 minutes and you're done and left with so many random bills.
After receiving a procedure here in October 2021 I got the patient responsibility portion of my bill about $500 and paid it. Then, months later, in May 2022, I received an additional bill of $45 for this procedure. Apparently my insurance company decided recently to change the contracted payment rate for the procedure I got. This decision happened AFTER we had the procedures. Well after. And yet as a patient this is now affecting me retroactively? This is like if a grocery store raises its price of bread from $5 to $8 and then bills all its customers who bought bread as far back as last year retroactively for that additional $3. If you're going to change prices for a service, fine, but that should only affect people going forward from the time you decide to change them, not retroactively for people who chose that service based on what the price point was at the time. As the provider and as a business, Carnegie Hill totally has the ability to wave this additional $45 bill they sent me, based on the absurdity here, however after speaking with several of their employees in Billing they were completely non-sympathetic, and unwilling to do so. I think this speaks volumes about the facility.
The staff--every single one I encountered--made it almost a pleasure to have to come in at 6:00 am and have a procedure. If I had to be there at 6:00, I can only imagine how early the staff needs to roll out of bed in the morning. I couldn't ask for a more professional and friendly staff. I thank them all for their work, dedication, and care. Highly recommend.
Skilled healthcare providers and friendly, professional staff made this visit a success! Iren greets you at the door and starts the process with a smile. Yvonne at reception asks how I am doing and makes sure all is in order in warm tones even at 8AM! Nurse O'Brien goes over all the details in the prep room professionally and thoroughly. My excellent Gastroenterologist, Paul M. Basuk visits to assure me and to explain the procedure. Next, Jay Mehta, the anesthesiologist, explains the process with humor and warmth. Travis, a technician gently arranges me into a most comfortable position. I am out before I can count to 30 and when I wake, Nurse Betancourt is gently administering to me. She was so amiable and made me comfortable so I could become more alert. They made an unpopular procedure easy. Now, if only someone could create a better prep for a colonoscopy! Thank you Carnegie Hill Endoscopy!
Came here to pick up my mother today. The front desk staff was unfriendly, and when I asked how long the procedure would be the person I spoke to Lisette acted as if she had no idea and gave me some estimated time.
Simply the best. Friendly staff, great atmosphere — free WiFi and iPads if you ask! — and an efficient operation that runs like a finely tuned Swiss watch. Dr. Lawrence Herman has a calming bedside manner and a terrific sense of humor. Have any fears or concerns? Be not afraid. He will put you at ease. I can't say enough good things about this place: it's comfortable and comforting and worth the trip.
BLAIR LEWIS has been my doctor since 1995. He is the best. And the Center is outstanding. The staff is efficient, kind, compassionate and makes you feel as if you are really being looked after.
This facility is awesome. It is refreshing to visit a healthcare facility where employees have great work ethics. Everyone is polite, caring and personable. The facility is beautiful, clean, spacious and very modern. They even lend iPads to the family members waiting for the patients to have their procedures. I would recommend this facility to everyone who needs endoscopic procedures.
