Carollo's Grocery & Deli

Loved exploring this shop. We bought some fresh mozzarella and some imported prosciutto. Amazing! Definitely order the imported, not the domestic. It was incredible. We also picked up some of those amazing apricot cookies they had. Just a wonderful place to go and look around with amazing food.

I have to agree with other people the customer service here really brings down the deli to a 2/5 stars. I’ve even contemplated 1/5 but I think after 5-7 visits I’ll stick with 2 for now. I’m under the impression that it’s definitely family owned. Many staff members are very passive and uninterested in the flow of customers in the deli. Their facial expressions can sometimes even give you the sensation that they may feel they are doing YOU favor by acknowledging you. Ever ask somebody for something, and they silently hand it or throw at you then fold their hands and watch TV? It may happen here. Despite all that I enjoy coming here for gelato and my wife likes their cannoli! As a child in Boston I used to work at an Italian family owned restaurant and coming into this small deli, looking at products really brings me back to my childhood memories as a young, impressionable 13 year old working under the table. Pizzelle with powdered sugar will never get old. I really wish they would start selling arancini! Or maybe they too and I haven’t discovered yet? I’ll have to find out again soon..

My husband and I went there on Saturday I was excited to have actually found an authentic Italian Salumeria..being we just moved here from NYC. Well when I went in I was okay with the appearance ..but the staff were too busy watching the football game that not even a hello how are ya? So I said just see how the products are . They did not have fresh Italian or semolina bread when I asked the clerk he said in between looking at the game on tv no what is semolina bread? Really?..then the cold cuts were horrible mortadella like bologna with fat..the suppresatta tasted like plastic and the most expensive thing was the "fresh mozz" was sour and curdled by the next day..so all in all it was severely dissapointing..unfriendly..and overpriced.Disgusting. I will never go back or recommend this dive.

I just called to find out about this place and the person answering the phone was so rude. Told me to call back and hung up. Talk about horrible customer service so why would I call back, let alone do business with them if that is how they treat people. I can only imagine what it is like in the deli.

You can get a giant tub of giardiniera mix here for around $20!
