Great food, I recommend the enchiladas and the loaded nacho mama platter, great portions w leftovers, I always get take out but the staff is super friendly and nice, everything I've been there was only about a 15 min wait for my food to be ready.Food: 5/5
This place has the best chicken taco I think I have ever had in my life. However - their Jerk Chicken Taco... I'm not quite sure what they think Jerk chicken is, but as a native South Floridian, their jerk chicken tastes nothing like jerk chicken... like, not even a little bit. It isn't bad, it tastes good. But I would definitely rename it or follow an authentic jerk recipe. But, like I said, still love this place.
Tacos were tasty. I tried a ground beef, Brisket with Green chili, and Carne Asada and washed it down with a Marble double white. I enjoyed all three tacos and was happy to see that the salsa bar was free included in the price. I just wish that the shells were more "home made". They were just normal deep fried shells. Nothing particularly wrong with that, but I was just expecting something more special. It did fill me up as it came with a side of beans and rice. Give it a try. It is tasty
What happened Casa Taco????? We’ve been customers of Casa Taco since they opened in Elephant Butte. The 25 cent taco nights are long gone, so paying $40 for 8 tacos is already hard to grasp. When purchasing tacos of the highest quality, you become ok with that though, and these tacos have always met that standard, until the last few months that is. This has ALWAYS been our go to taco spot, and I’ve noticed a obvious and steady decline in quality. We keep hoping it will turn around, but unfortunately it has not. I couldn’t finish the 4 shrimp tacos I had tonight because my jaw was so sore after chewing through the toughest tortillas I think I’ve ever eaten. My last taco had absolutely zero garnish, no attempt whatsoever, it didn’t fall out, it was never put in there. They advertise hand crafted tacos but they have strayed far from this. This is the last time I will eat here. We’ll be taking our $40 taco night money to a local taco truck where it will be appreciated. Such a disappointment to loose a staple in your town, Casa Taco was definitely one of them.
Prepare your taste buds for a rollercoaster at Casa Taco, where the Loaded Mama Nachos are so generously topped, you might mistake them for a culinary Mt. Everest. Now, the Puffy Adobo Chicken Taco, a marvel of spice and tenderness—it’s like the chicken took a spa day in flavor town. And let’s not forget Casa Taco’s in-house red and green chile sauces; they’re the real MVPs, playing a duet of heat and flavor that’ll make you reconsider your relationship with ketchup. Casa Taco, where every bite is an adventure, and your taste buds will thank you for the vacation from the ordinary!
See UPDATE below Good tacos…but not great. They are a bit pricey for what you get. For example the three carne asada tacos pictured, with a cup of rice and a cup of beans came to over $12.00. They should not be over $10.00. Other places offer them for even less and the quality and taste are comparable. I did enjoy the crispy shells. That makes them much more tasty. Mine fell apart from the juices, but that’s to be expected with a corn tortilla. No big deal. UPDATE 11/4/2021: In response to my previous review, the store owner invited me to give them another try. He assured me that my experience was not the normal. So yesterday, I went back and tried them again. I have to say, this time my experience was much better. I ordered two brisket tacos and one Yucatán, all with crispy shells. The flavor on the crispy pork of the Yucatán is amazing! You can tell that the meat has been marinating and the flavor is outstanding! Also, this time it seemed the tacos were fresh and made to order. On my previous visit this was not the case. So, bottom line… Don’t write them off. Give them another chance. They’re trying hard and their food is excellent! I understand that during the pandemic the cost of ingredients has arisen so the prices reflect this. However if you want a really good, homemade crispy taco, give them a try. James really stands behind his restaurant, and with goof reason. Excellent customer service! 5 stars!
First time in, the service was great and plenty on the menu. Ordered three different tacos ala carte just to get a little taste of everything. They came out promptly and perfect temperature to devour. They were a 3/5 when it comes to tacos. The salsa was ok and a bit watery. The only other option was guacamole, and a lot of it. For what they were it was over priced with no other option of getting just tacos. That's really my only negative to the place. They might want to work on menu options and pricing for it being a taco spot. Would eat again, but there are plenty of options in town for tacos.
Always tasty and great customer service! Rice can get a little dry if you happen to get the bottom of the pot. Highly recommend the loaded fries and the fried mushrooms they use juicy fresh mushrooms and nice crispy batterFood: 5/5
Disgusting. Very expensive. Almost $20 a person for a tiny plate. See picture attached, I wish I could have gotten my money back! The beans were severely undercooked and I couldn’t eat them. The rice was flavorless and bland. The tacos were small, had minimal filling, and also were very bland. The filling they did have was chewy and gross. Even the iced tea was unappetizing and tasted like bad dishwater. Each taco is $5+ alone and the meal was $15, which is outrageous for what you get. I should have walked away instead of ordering when the staff couldn’t even take my order correctly at first, despite ordering a normal plate with no special requests. Super disappointed, will not return or order from here ever again. Save yourself the disappointment of wasting your money and go somewhere else, especially if you’re a local.
I never write reviews… because it makes me feel like a Karen but this absolutely necessary. I usually come here, and it’s usually good…the last few times: not so much; I don’t know who in the world put my lettuce to warm up on my tacos, the lettuce was completely wilted and warm. Gross!! Idk about you but I like my lettuce cold, fresh and crisp. Really who warms up lettuce? They also for the first time today, took it upon themselves, to stuff and I mean STUFF the guacamole inside my tacos themselves… instead of putting it in a container and allowing me to determine how much guac I would like if even any…. Tacos are also soggy yet hard at the same time… I can’t even pick it up. I ate the other one with a fork but the guac was overwhelmingly gross with the combination of hot wilted lettuce…so to the trash it goes! My advice make your own tacos… especially for the price. Or pay to be dissatisfied…
