For a rainy dinner hour on Monday, it was to be expected that most places would be on the empty side. But this getaway place shouldn't have been, because the food and service were respectively home-made delicious and honest. The dishes we ordered were recommended traditional ones and were overall satisfying especially because of the sauces! Perfectly reasonable place to grad some quick falafel from the Georgetown campus. In the end, it was the perfectly crafted almond caramel cake dessert that really stole the show! I don't even really like caramel and I am still thinking about this amazing caramel sauce...
Very good food. We eat there on July 3rd and the city was empty as everyone is traveling for the 4th of July. I got a bit worried that the restaurant is empty and thought that food might not be fresh. I was so happy with my dish. I ordered Couscous with lamb and my wife got the chicken lemon. Both were great. Definitely recommended and we will go back soon.
Stumbled on this place and my friend and I were pleasantly surprised. We had some hummus which was served with a hot bread, both delicious. I had a lemon marinated chicken served with vegetable and rice, my friend had a lamb dish which he said was very good. service was good at 3-4 in the afternoon.
We went there looking at some of the reviews and menu items. Who isn't a fan of gyros? Photos from menu show shaved gyro. They serve frozen gyro warmed up. Also had kabob, was bland. So was the overcooked chicken sandwich. Server was extremely nice.
I ordered the beef koofta main plate. There was very little rice and the rice was hard and in clumps. Also, there was no “salad” as described there was only this small side of purple cabbage which does not constitute a salad. Additionally, the pita bread was hard and uncooked very powdery. Overall bad food and description was misleading.
The most disgusting lamb kabob ive ever had. Portion was small for the price but i hoped it would make up for it in taste. NOPE. Lamb was so gross and the rice had no taste. Im very dissappointed. Great customer service but food is trash.
The dolmades were old and drying out on top. The spanakopita were TINY pieces. They don't have a Greek dressing and the feta in my salad was dry. Bad flavour in the olives. Worst Greek food I've had in ages.
This is the most underrated restaurant in Georgetown. I can't believe this place isn't packed solid every night. It's actually 2 restaurants in 1 location: Ledo Pizza and Casbah Cafe. On the Casbah menu, I've tried the lamb shank that is melt in your mouth awesomeness served with cous cous that reminds me of tagines in France. Beef kofta, fattoush salad, hummus, falafel, etc., are all perfect too. I've also tried the chicken parm which hit the spot but really the Casbah menu is much better. And the prices are serious bargains for the area. I'm scared people will find out about this gem and I will have to wait in line.
The food was great. The spanakopita and the chicken tagine were absolutely delicious! Our waiter was attentive and grateful. Definitely recommend it!
The good points were that it was quiet and didn't cost much but the food I had the falafel on pita sandwich was bland. Wish I had just gone next door to Ledo's especially seeing that they are apparently owned by the same people - all the napkins said Ledo's on them!.
