New construction home was in need of a basement door leading to the bulkhead for security and insulation purposes. Called several local contractors and received high quotes of $4000-$5000 over the phone. One proposed removing the bulked and constructing a "doghouse" around the concrete structure of the bulkhead at a cost of $7000. I finally discovered and called Catalpa Carpentry, who came out to the house within a few days and provided a VERY reasonable quote for a steel door instal. A time was agreed upon for an install date and Catalpa arrived and completed the project in 1 day. I was extremely impressed with their professionalism and skillset. The finished product was flawless. They even identified locations on nearby basement windows where the builder did not install insulation properly - or at all. Catalpa added insulation and fixed the issue at no extra cost. I plan on hiring them for future projects and would recommend their services to all. Highly recommended!!

The owner, Mack is a jack of all trades! He is very fair and clear when explaining the job and quoting it. He did an amazing job tiling our new bathroom and his woodworking skills are very impressive! Reliable, on time, friendly and well worth the money!

couldn't be happier with the doors we had replaced. The job was done in the time frame given and a very clean finished product, highly recommend Mack and will be having him back for any future work!

This is such a great company! So glad I found them! Mack and his team really know what they are doing. Catalpa has completed a number of projects for me ranging from a simple trim repair on a window to an entire bathroom remodel. Every time, Mack has come out in person to give an estimate of the task at hand, talked me thoroughly through the phases of the project and completed it flawlessly.

Top-notch carpenters who were able to see the potential in our renovation. We were astounded by their beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail. Every step of the way they were in constant communication about the project. We would not hesitate to hire them again.
