Catania Bakery

I wish I could give it zero stars. Stopped by and bought a cake. I've had this cake from this bakery before and never had an issue with it except for today. The cake was supposed to be a lemon meringue cake but there was absolutely no lemon filling inside and no lemon flavor at all. The cake was a two layer sponge cake filled with plain whipped cream and decorated with meringue on the outside. It had coconut and small squares of cake as decoration around the sides that were so stale you could break a window with them. Not to mention after cutting into the cake there was an empty void for the center. A big giant hole dead center of the cake. Please see pictures. They must have a new baker because this cake was terrible and a waste of money. After reading other customer reviews I can see this business never responds to their customer reviews guess they don't care about losing valuable patrons.

My cousin bought a cake in this horrible place. DONT BUY ANYTHING HERE if you don’t want to end up sick. He got a cake for our aunt's birthday and it was NOT fresh. He went back to this place to let them know what happened and they were so rude and mean, telling him that He was lying. And they never resolved this problem. We already spoke to health department about this so they will handle it now. Terrible service.

The cake was not fresh and the flavor was bitter. The cannoli on top was soggy and its filling tasted bitter. It really wasn’t pleasant. Nobody in my family ended up liking it. Sadly very disappointed.

Order never ready on time. Ordered cheesecake to be picked up in the morning time. When I arrived it wasn’t ready had to wait for the lady to locate what I wanted and then write “happy birthday” on it. I would not recommend if you need your pastries on time.

The cakes are good and bakery goods if you just drop in for pick up. Wouldn’t try to order a cake though. They’re unorganized it seems. The baker is only in for a few hours daily. I called 3 days in a row and recurved three different responses. And finally someone asked how many people, and just said they couldn’t do it for this coming Saturday. Didn’t even try to hear some of the ideas. Wouldn’t of been a sheet cake with design. If that can’t be done, or can’t even be heard then the bakery shouldn’t be advertising any specialty cakes

I love this bakery, it's my go to for every holiday. It's one of the very few places in queens where you can find sicilian pastries. The bread, pastries and cakes are always fresh and delicious.

Their cake's are excellent. We've had the Chocolate, Strawberry Shortcake and Cannoli cake so far.
