Central Iowa Shelter & Services

A great place for anyone trying to get back on their feet, but the shelter is crawling with many individuals that's on the wrong path. Which are trying to find any person to take to the land of stupidity with them. So choose carefully whom you talk too. The staff are great and helpful and plus the Church's which come feed the people are so up lifting to many that trying to turn away the way of the carnal ways of the flesh. If you are willing to come down here and don't have any place try to do what need to be done to stay on the right path of of life a responsibilities. May the HOLY spirit be with you and many be good. This shelter is awesome and turns no one away. They have a clinic, clothing closet, support meetings, three meals a day, supportive housing upstairs, and case managers to help you with the process. If you need a way to get back on your feet or just a break, this is the place!

Great staff dedicated to transitioning vulnerable men and women into permanent housing and getting their lives back on track.

Mostly great staff. Restrooms are a hit and miss. Food is all donations from local churches. Provides a smoking patio.

I came here in August of 2017. I signed up for all of the Housing programs available. By December 20th I moved into my own apartment on the 2nd floor.
