Someone tried to steal my car while it was parked under a street lamp AND a security camera over the weekend. Nothing was stolen from the car. They broke the window, attempted to hotwire the car, broke my ignition and messed up the battery. I guess they were not successful. Security guard stopped by while i was waiting for the tow truck. Unfortunately, he could not tell me if the security cam has captured anything. Denver Police took my statement over the phone. Apparently they had too much going on that evening to attend to this issue. Positives: At least parking was free. Train was on time. Costly for a one way ticket to the airport to also find your car vandalized upon return.
Never had an issue there until tonight. Someone tried breaking in to my car and my car isn't fancy. It's a 2002 trailblazer and I don't have anything valuable left in my car to steal. I got off work and came back to my driver's side handle broken off. Thankfully they weren't able to break in but I've parked here for almost 2 years and never had an issue. This is the first time and it's actually the first time I don't see a security car roaming the parking lot like they usually do when I get there at midnight. I might change to parking at the airport now because I don't want my car to be broken into again. And I've noticed that there's alot of homeless there roaming at night and sleeping by the parked cars. 5/10 came to work and talked to one of my supervisors about my incident and she said that her husband saw a girl roaming the parking lot checking handles to see if any vehicle was unlocked. She said he saw her on the 6th.
I haven't been solicited here at this park and ride but I do know that a few buses have been cancelled late at night but it's very clean and not really a bad or uncomfortable place to wait for your ride train or bus
Very well posted and train was on time. I felt a little unsafe though. People asking for money and cigarettes.
Add my review to the many with their vehicles being targeted. Catalytic converter was stolen off my vehicle and another family member nearly had their truck stolen last month. This is truly a park at your own risk station. Strongly recommend choosing a different lot if leaving your vehicle for any amount of time. I really hope RTD puts together solutions to bring back confidence in this station as it certainly has value given it's location.
Beware, this is not a safe place to leave your car. Our catalytic converter was stolen Normally we use the DIA shuttle lots but I thought I'd try taking the train to the airport. It seemed convenient and only $2/day however there's no security whatsoever. When we got back from our trip the car's engine was incredibly loud loud someone had stolen the catalytic converter. It's extremely frustrating because it's more than $2,000 to repair apparently they sell them for the valuable metals they contain. I'll never park here again. The nice thing about the DIA shuttle lots is that they're fenced-in, they have a regular presence of security and shuttle drivers and they're also way out in the middle of nowhere. Whereas this lot is so close to the city it's an easy target. Also, found this knife on the ground near my spot. Too many alarming things going on here. Don't park here overnight
Clean facility with clear signage. Pleasing contemporary architectural feel. Next step in the evolution of such facilities would be to have bathrooms onsite, but there are inherent complications with such. One can still dream. :
I loved this lot for years as a place to park and take the train to the airport ... until my car was stolen from there last week when I was traveling. I wasn't aware of the situation until it was too late. STAY AWAY until changes are made. Additional bummer - there's no warm place to wait for the police.
Easy and safe access to Union Station or the airport. Can buy the tickets from machines before you enter.
Great accessibility to shopping and restaurants with in a half mile of Walmart and Home Depot and other retail stores Ross and more.
