The Charleston Heights Arts Center is a gem operated by the city of Las Vegas. It is a neighborhood facility that has first-class amenities because, hey, this is Vegas and that's how we do the arts. The main draw for the public is the theater. The Rainbow Theater Company organizes the plays, most of them populated by local kids. The musical Matilda had a live orchestra. And there were two people signing the show so the deaf among us could understand the play. They make everyone feel welcome and cared for! The theater has great acoustics and comfortable seats. I thought it was kewl they had a glass bowl with earplugs for both adults and kids in case you thought the music was too loud. I wish some of the Strip theaters would be so thoughtful! There's a wall at the back of the theater that showcases photos from the 1960s when the theater opened. I found it as exciting than the excellent formal art exhibit in the building. Check that out! There's a formal art gallery in the middle of the building. The art exhibit I saw was thoughtful, well-done and captivating. There are benches in case you want to take a moment to take it all in. Well, not Louvre quality, but really good. During the week clubs and arts and crafts activities take place for the locals. There's plenty of parking all around the building. Even when there is not a seat to be had in the theater, there's still a parking place for you. The shows aren't Smith Center quality. But for $8 a ticket, they are ah-maz-ing!
First time visitor, definitely not last. Easy access, plenty of parking, talented kids and a great show.

Absolutely love this place. My daughter goes to the Rainbow theater company and always has a great time.
We went there 3 times to see the same play because my granddaughter was in it. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to see her in another play. The rainbow company was a great group of kids. This were every professional.
Great venue to increase awareness of the arts. Great activities for kids
They asked my husband to leave with his service dog for no reason. They broke the law.
So happy this place exist. I moved from Chicago where it was a lot of cultural events in the smaller theaters. I will be back. I watched an amazing dance performance here and it was stunning.
