Charlie Palmer Steak
"Located in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters headquarters off the wide, open expanse of the National Mall, Charlie Palmer Steak DC is dedicated to big, bold American food. Executive Chef Zach Long's menu stars the best American artisan beef cuts like an aged Angus Rib-eye "Cowboy" steak as well as updated seafood classics such as the Iced Shellfish Platter of lobster, shrimp, king crab, and oysters. Underscoring the patriotic menu, Palmer's innovative wine cube—which appears to be floating on water—features 3,500 bottles of exclusively American wine featuring over 600 selections. In addition to the private dining rooms, the rooftop terrace can accommodate 400 guests and possesses the city's most impressive view of the Capitol."

Great fillet mignon center steak! Awesome oyster, so fresh and I particularly love the sour red sauce that comes with it. I think it is tomato based. We asked for medium for the new york stripe but it was a bit too dry. Asparagus was splendid, perfectly cooked. Atmosphere was nice too.
Ok so we were excited to experience this place for our anniversary. Sadly we was highly disappointed. 1st we were shoved in a corner that wasn't comfortable especially with me being 8 months pregnant, and when I asked the hostess can we have another seat placement she just looked at me as if I spoke another language. The service was subpar. It was too many times during our meal the waiter didn't show back up for long periods and we were left waiting looking crazy. The food was ok, steak was great the bearnaise sauce was horrible, mushrooms were too tough to chew. I was hoping you at least get a complimentary dessert for our anniversary and we did not get anything except a meal that wasn't enjoyable. The ambiance was however nice. Would I be back...most likely not.
I decided to try CPSH and to my delight it was amazing! The staff truly make the experience memorable. You must try their trio crème brûlée Exceptional Ohhhhhh and the French onion soup…… on point
Great place for business lunch. I got the crab cakes and it was amazing! More filling than i thought. I'd like to return and try their steaks.
Lamar is literally the BEST bartender in DC. I’ve been to all the “greatest” restaurants in DC & his drink are literally the best. Asked for a blue motorcycle and let me tell you it was the fanciest yet the best blue motorcycle ever! & I’ve tried them from everywhere. His espresso martini is amazing & his Negroni is to die for.
Excellent meal, excellent service, and friendly staff. My party visited Charlie Palmer Steakhouse in D.C. as a celebration during our trip and late birthday for my daughter since missing it last year during covid. Being visitors to D.C., we were not sure what to expect or where to go for a celebration dinner. We were treated very well with friendly staff. Our waiter was patient with us to help us with the menu and style of service Charlie Palmer provides. We all ordered steaks which were cooked to order with several sides we all shared. Desserts were awesome and were a nice unsual splurge for us. Overall, we had an excellent time and really felt great after our dinner. To top off our evening, we were treated to a special location to view the Capitol and Mall. We left the restaurant impressed and very happy we visited. We highly recommend Charlie Palmer Steakhouse in D.C.
Very non-assuming venue within a minutes walk of the Capital. Good food vibes and aperitif menu. Glad I stopped in and had dinner.
Classic steakhouse; menu is small, but everything is delicious. The service could be more attentive - they may be short staffed due to the pandemic. The burger and steak are good portion sizes for lunch.
Our server Brandon was great. Stopped by for lunch after some site seeing. The lunch menu was quite good and reasonably priced considering the quality and quality of the restaurant. Would love to return for dinner.Food: 5/5
This steak restaurant "ran out of steak knives" Food was okay but a bit bland. Service started out sub par but when they recognized they were serving someone famous the service improved. I prefer restaurants that treat everyone great especially when the bill is in the thousand dollar range.
