Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous

Very good charcoal cooked ribs that were very tender and fell right off the bone. They were dry rubbed and Rendezvous BBQ sauce on the side. You walk down a short ally and go downstairs to the restaurant well lit and felt safe. My husband had brisket and he said it was fantastic and very tender also.

Out of this world! Best ribs & sweet tea I've had, that rub and the way it's cared for and cooked makes this now something I will always crave. This is accompanied by superior colorful service the historical trinkets and ambiance that fill this basement are truly amazing. Way to keep it real!

I love coming here for ribs! Not only a Memphis institution, the BBQ is legitimately good and those dry rub ribs are wonderful. The staff are amazing, our waiter has been there for 40 years! And clearly loved the job! Thanks Robert Jr!

The ribs are perfectly cooked. The seasoning is good but kinda wished there was a tad bit more of it. Would of made the ribs that much more flavorful. It does lack smoke flavor and although the cook was good, it was a little dry. The beans were I bit on the sweet side but in no means bad. The slaw was just ok. Great place with history.

Went here for dinner with a big group. They handled such a large group 20 ppl with excellence. Waiter was friendly and stayed on top of things. Food was good, but not that great. Ribs were dry and the brisket, while tasty, was cold. All in all a good time. Decor was great and good atmosphere.

There aren't many things that I crave on a deep level but Rendezvous ribs are at the top of that list. I grew up eating here and having our family functions in these walls. Always felt like family and the rub is one of a kind. You won't find anything else like it. Highly recommend.
