Charter Painting & Construction Group

Was wondering whether my beat up deck was worth having restored, or just totally rebuilt. I called Charter Painting & Restoration, and had Christian come out to take a look at it. He showed up when he said he would which is half the battle with most contractors. He took measurements and told me what it would take to get it back to looking good. The contract form was very clear and easy to read and most importantly the price was right! He said to replace a few of the boards which were pretty heavily rotted, either i can do it myself, or have one of his contractors do it. This was something i could handle myself, so i did just that. He said they were about 2 weeks backed up with work and he'd start then, which he promptly did, a good high pressure washing, sanding the entire deck and rails on day 2, blew off all the sanding dust, and applied the first coat, came back the 3rd day on a Saturday for coat #2. I let it dry for a couple days since it was extra humid, and this thing looks good as new!! Thanks!

I reached out to a lot of different contractors regarding a painting project on my house and none of them would really give me the time of day, or if they would show up, they just weren't helpful. Charter Restoration was helpful right from the start. They got right to the point and did a wonderful job including cleaning up around the area and making sure that everything was perfect before they left. They were very quick and thorough at the same time and even educated me on how to maintain my home to help protect it from Connecticut winters. I loved working with them and definitely recommend them.

Charter Painting & Restoration did a wonderful job painting my ceilings in my condo. They were prompt, professional, courteous and answered any questions I had regarding their process. I would definitely consider them for future painting and/or flooring jobs!

We recently had the exterior of our house repainted. When I called for a quote, I left a message on his voicemail in which I got a call back within 30minutes. He came over that day for a quote. He has a form that outlines and divides up all aspects of the house that can be painted...doors, sash, racks, trim, gutters, railings, second coat, etc. So you can pick and choose what you would like painted. He quoted me out the painting portion that day, which I liked! Because I had trim that was rotted, I got a quote from his carpenter who charged a reasonable hourly rate to fix it all. We also asked the carpenter to do some unrelated exterior and interior work as well. So that was nice and convenient for us. Everything was done in a timely manner. Both the carpenter and the painter called/texted when they were arriving, status of the job, or if any questions arose. Jim Charter himself called towards the end to see if I was happy so far. We got the leftover cans of paint. They even painted a tiny portion of trim for us at no charge because both Jim and I missed it during the quote. Excluding any days they didn't work due to inclement weather, the carpentry and painting took about a 1.5 weeks. Overall a very pleasant experience!
