Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area - Paces Mill Unit

Nice little area to walk down to the riverfront, but best for putting in your watercraft. Not a good area for swimming, minimal for fishing. We mainly did a little magnet fishing , which was fairly suitable for that. Park area is a little rough, needs some grass and brush maintenance, but it was a refreshing little quick break from urban life to taking a few for nature!

The Paces Mill Unit is part of Chattahoochee River National Recreational Area. Technically a National Park. There is a sufficient parking area, fee per car is $3 unless you have National Park membership. The mail trail goes along the Chattahoochee River with side trail looping up a hill. The area is beautiful and easy to walk through. The only negative is the noise from I-75 traffic. Ok

I've used the Rottenwood Creek trail for running. It's a great workout with lots of challenging, long hills. Even though most of the trail is close to interstates and big roads, you still get some really nice views of the creek. Lastly, the Paces Mill boat ramp has been a convenient way to finish kayaking trips.

I walk this trail with my dogs regularly. It's very well shaded which is nice for hot days

Peaceful spot. Very serene. People had their dogs.
