I've used Chef Smirnov for both business and personal catering events. The food is phenomenal. My orders are always right with impeccable presentation. Several occasions I have needed servers and they are extremely courteous, professional, and a huge help. If you are considering a caterer for a special occasion, Chef Smirnov and his team will not disappoint.

My family has used Chef Smirnov's Catering 4 times in the past year. Twice to supplement a few dinners, once for my first family dinner party, and most recently for our wedding party. I had never thrown a dinner party before and my boyfriend suggested we have it catered to avoid cooking disasters. I decided to go with Chef Smirnov's company because we had just recently attended a Thanksgiving dinner that was unforgettably delicious. I had never worked with a caterer before and was a bit intimidated. Vlad made the process easy and stress free for me. The beef tenderloin was a hit. My guests could not stop commenting on the excellent quality of the meat and how tender and juicy it was. After my boyfriend proposed to me, I was faced with yet another party dilemma! I had five months to plan the perfect wedding party for 150 people! The only venue available was the Houston Heights Fire station. I wasn't thrilled with the location of the party and knew that if I wanted to throw a successful wedding party that I could be proud of- my biggest priority would be the food- most importantly Chef Smirnov's food. I looked at all the caterer's in Houston- to compare prices - as any DIY bride would do. However- I found myself sending emails and leaving voicemails for caterer's who obviously didn't need any business because they did not reply or failed to send me menu's as promised. Even though I knew I wasn't actually planning on using any of these companies- it was very frustrating and only further justified choosing Chef Smirnov. When I sent Chef Smirnov an email to let him know I would be needing his services again, he called me just minutes later to congratulate me on our marriage! I told my husband- that this was precisely why we HAD to use Chef Smirnov - his food is excellent and he is professional and so easy to work with! When I met with Chef Smirnov, he made me feel completely at ease. His company offers full services, he could take care of the linens, flatware, china, flowers, and anything else I would possibly need. What I really liked about him, was that he focused on offering me a wide range of options while being considerate of budget concerns. I told my husband that Vlad was insistent on making sure wedding vendors didn't rip me off and offered to go with me to the china rental and florists businesses. This put my husband at ease knowing I was in good hands. Though Chef Smirnov and I had discussed many dinner options that fit different budgets, I knew I wanted the food to be the focus of the party. I DIY'd the linens, flatware, centerpieces, invitations, programs specifically so I could spend more money on the food. I chose to do the bride and groom chocolate fountain with fruit tree, crudites and cheese display- which featured his gorgeous signature carved watermelons. For the buffet dinner we had: Blueberry and poached pear spring salad pre-plated ^I highly recommend the added expense of pre-plating because it is so elegant and made the tables look fantastic. Beef Tenderloin Cedar Planked Salmon with Raspberry Chipolte Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Wild Rice Pilaf, and Grilled Vegetables. The food was beyond outstanding! The salmon was cooked to perfection- being from Washington state I'm PICKY about salmon . The tenderloin was absolutely mouthwatering. Our guests were raving about the food- and when we opened the buffet line up for seconds- EVERYONE got up for more- even the KIDS! By the end of the night the only food leftover was rice and potatoes. I am still receiving phone calls and emails about how wonderful the food was! In addition to the food being PERFECT. Chef Smirnov's staff is amazing. They were fast and efficient. I hired extra help earlier in the day and Vlad sent Roger to assist me. Without Roger's assistance in helping me set up the venue- I would have been lost! But his insight really helped me pull it together! It has been absolutely wonderful and stress free to work with this catering company!

Never tried the food but I just saw their catering vehicle completely run a red light and almost take out 4 lanes of traffic as well as pedestrians in a busy downtown/midtown intersection. Maybe late for a delivery? No food is worth taking out someone's life.

Wide range of menu possibilities and everything is simply delicious. Catering staff is professional and on point. Highly recommend for any event. I’ve had him cater for business events and personal events.
