10/10 I have gone for several appointments with Dr Gauthier and each time has been fantastic. He is a very thorough and patient doctor. Very detailed when he explained the procedure I needed to get and was patient with me when I needed breaks once getting the procedure. The medical assistants have been awesome as well Chris was fantastic! Very friendly and great at calming down or trying to make you comfortable. I'm glad I was referred here from tricare and look forward to coming back just not looking forward to more procedures.
So I had my procedure today and as all of us we read the reviews prior to my first visit. There are some amazing reviews and some really bad ones. So here is my experience.. Yes, this office is 100% set up to process as many people as possible and watching the precision in which Doc and the entire staff executes is amazing. In order for them to operate at max capacity they have a clockwork like system of efficiency that some people may see as cold but with that said. Doc not only took care of me he went ABOVE AND BEYOND! He explained everything to me and even went over alot if issues outside of the procedure such as diet, blood pressure, and general medical advice. I was scared of this procedure but I never felt anything more than a pinch and Doc talked me through the entire process. True professionals! Thank You! I am glad I walked through the door.
I wish I didn’t wait so long to schedule an appointment, because the experience at Chesapeake Bay Pain Med. and relief provided has been 100% worth every needle. I have found the staff to be very professional and friendly. They talk to you through your entire appointment to keep your mind off the procedure. My first experience, I was more nervous, but each experience after was so much easier knowing Doctor Gauthier was letting me know what was going on, what to expect, when to expect it, etc. Definitely helped me to relax and make the experience that much quicker and less painful than you might expect.
Dr. Gauthier and his staff are awesome and very professional. I have had 2 epidural steroid injections performed by Dr. Gauthier and each have been a great/pleasant experience. First, the office values your time - you are in and out of the office in no time - no waiting around. Second, Dr. Gauthier is very pleasant and personable. He talks you thru the entire procedure - step by step making you feel extremely comfortable. He is very knowledge and truly cares about your health. I highly recommend Chesapeake Bay Pain Medicine Center for their professionalism and knowledge. I can't say enough good things about this office.
The professionalism is outstanding here as well as their mission to put you at ease during your procedure. Dr. Gauthier explained everything as he was performing my procedure. Michelle at the front went over and beyond to get me in ASAP.
The young lady that stated she runs the whole office 4 / 15/2022 was very RUDE and unpleasant .I ask to speak to someone else. She refuse to let me speak to anyone . She could not answer basic questions. I would not recommend this office for care .she sound like she was having a bad day. She even hung the phone up. Wow. This is how they treat people in pain. She added she been running the office doe 15 years. She might be burnt out. She screens the calls sonid she your number she will not answer . Just unprofessional
DO NOT GO unless you want to be treated as another number. If you received a pain management referral to Chesapeake Bay Pain Medicine I highly recommend calling tricare to request a change for a different pain management center. I was always treated as a number. During my few interactions with Dr. Gauthier it seem like he really didn’t care about the way I felt and the pain I was in. You also have little to no time for expressing your concerns or pain to Dr. Gauthier. I was amazed by the lack of empathy. I wish the experience would’ve been different but unfortunately is all about business and getting patients pushed through as fast as possible for profit. I did not have any issues with the staff during the face to face interactions but over the phone ... Is like a different world. They have a very aggressive tone with the patients and no sense of empathy or politeness . I was shocked !
These people are “crooks”. They will charge to ask you questions that Medicare requires them to ask. Although they charge only a penny for every question they ask you, with all the patients they have , they get quite a few free bucks for asking you a single question. In addition to the penny charge, the office visit for a NP, not Dr is $173. Outrageous. Then charge up every question they ask I.e do you smoke, do you have incontinence, etc etc They charge to take your blood pressure. Plus procedures aren’t permanent so they have you coming back. They are making lots of money for not fixing any issues. Just FYI. WONT BE GOING BACK.
Billing Tactics: I was referred to this office by another to receive epidural injections for a back injury. Today, discussing procedures for second injection, was told to reschedule due to previous illness and medication being taken for it. They insisted that I still had to pay today even though I didn't receive the shot. The office manager said "the doctor will bill your insurance as a consultation fee." Co-payments are $60 each time I see them. I received consultation two months ago before receiving treatments! Total greed!
Dr. Gauthier and his staff are great to deal with. Experience was quick, procedure was comfortable and effective and overall pleased with the entire visit.
