Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park

People are courteous for the most part but folks on bikes have to understand that people walking cannot hear you riding up behind. (Especially if you see kids walking. Ring your bells and share the trail. No trash and well marked. Great time hiking with out scouts bsa.

Went here with my Daughter's class field trip. We had a great time! Guides were very knowledgeable and fun. We learned some great history about this place. Great for walks or bike rides. Very peaceful and close to nature. We loved it!!

Billy goat trail at great falls maryland. 3 trails to choose from all with great views. Trail A is the toughest because of a 50 foot rock scramble. So if in doubt do trail b and trail c which have some smaller scrambles. C is easiest and has less people but all have some hills and lots of rocks like walking up and down bottom part of a mountain. Trails are off of c & o canal where people jog and bike on crushed stone.

It is a good park to spent time with kids. But becarful in coming season from mosquito and bugs. Bug repellent spray is must. You can spend a good picnic day. Nice canal and good for long walk.

We visit this historical spot in all seasons! We walk our dog and bring the grandkids too! A beautiful grassy spot to picnic in summer. Many picnic tables to choose. A great place to explore and relax. We had a splendid time on the free boat ride tour down the canal! A free bicycle rental is available for all. Fun for the entire family in all seasons!
