Over the last two months, I have had a miserable experience with this place. I dropped my car off initially and was promised a 10 day turn around. Then when I called they said they were waiting for parts and would call me back. I totally get that parts are hard these days, but THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. I was checking in every other day to beg and plead for info so I could plan my daily commute, only to be told "two more days" and then GHOSTED. I finally insisted on picking up the car because I didn't want it sitting around while waiting for parts. I dropped it off again last week and was promised it would be done by Friday. Still not done, zero communication from them - they didn't have the courtesy to call to let me know it wouldn't be done. We called to confirm pickup because I have learned not to trust them, and lo and behold - they have no idea what the status is. Absolutely do not recommend. Only use this place if you have the flexibility for someone to hold your car hostage for weeks and the patience to call multiple times for updates. So frustrated as I had a good experience here fixing a tire in 2018 and was hoping to be a repeat customer.
They told me that they needed 2 days to work on my vehicle. So I took a day off Friday so they could work Friday and Saturday. So I took my car to the service department early Friday morning, I expected that they could finish it Saturday afternoon. When I came to the repair shop, they said the mechanic didn’t show up…no one called me to inform me that the mechanic in charge of my car didn’t show up! I was disappointed.. So they told me Monday.. and I expected to get it Monday afternoon. But They were not able to finish it! So I waited for another day, and Tuesday afternoon, I got my car back… in short they took 4 days to complete the work which I believed that it added the price of the labor, the labor was almost $3000.00 dollars… I was very sad…
An absolute nightmare. In March, I bought a 2018 Equinox. Never mind that I paid a small fortune for the car; three weeks ago, the car broke down- it was the transmission. Thank God I purchased a warranty- it covered the cost of transmission repair. However rather than giving me a new transmission, they "rebuilt" the old transmission, and last night, the car broke down again. When I called the dealership in attempt to report this, and to say that I want a new transmission, not a rebuilt one, I was put on hold, for so long that I realized nobody was going to pick up the phone and help me. So I called back three more times, and each time I was put on hold. My warranty also covers a rental, however today I was told that Hertz doesn't have any cars available, so I am just out of luck. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. Thank God for the New Jersey Lemon Law.
Leased and purchased 4 different vehicles from them in the last 5 years. I just learned they are under new under new ownership. My service was done today and Lorenzo and everyone else involved were really nice and diligent, I was able to use my coupon for a discount and they gave me a car wash out of courtesy. Thanks!
I initiated my sale online with Cecil for online sales and worked with Joel and Chris in sales. They are welcoming, friendly and straight forward. I traveled about two hours to buy this car from Chevy of Jersey City and I am very thankful for the experience and my choice of dealership.
It took a little longer than expected, but the work was done and the car is fine. Oil was changed and the tires were rotated, and the price was very good. I wish the lounge were nicer. The TV was loud & I couldn't turn it down so I could read, despite no one else being in there.
Andre is very friendly, knowledgeable of the features of the car and patient. We arevery satisfied with our experience.
UPDATE: We are still awaiting the paperwork from the dealership that the car was pre certified when purchased. What we were sent was that the car had an oil change, air filters and wiper blades were checked. This is what we received from the manager. We contacted corporate office and they verified it was not. When we purchased the vehicle we were told it was. UNRELIABLE!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Purchased a vehicle about a month ago. Was told it was pre-certified. After 3 days of having the car, we kept hearing a noise. Took the car to service exactly 3 weeks ago and found it it was the transmission. It has been 3 weeks and we still don’t have an answer. We have been giving the run around from the start. And needless to say no vehicle. We have dealt with Jayden, Joel, C and Ken from service and we still have no resolution. We are returning this vehicle and staying far away after being sold a LEMON. LUCKILY, NJ has a lemon law!
The service manager, Lynn and her associate Ken, were wonderful in their customer service. I originally went in for a airbag recall. Lynn who primarily took care of me, later called me and informed me of additional problems with the vehicle which was later addressed. Great people and service.
I leased a Chevy equinox from this dealer 39mths ago. They are now refusing to take the vehicle back at lease end breach of contract on their part. The reason given is “no space on the lot”. I drove there yesterday and they have space for 50 cars between the dealership and their additional lot further up Communipaw I have the dated photos to prove this - taken yesterday. They have said they will take the car back IF I sign a new lease with them blackmail, clearly they have the room. I’m currently instructing a solicitor to file a breach of contract case against them. I am also filing a complaint with the NJ Division of consumer affairs who I spoke to earlier today. All other local area dealers are taking cars they leased back. Chevrolet of Jersey City is the only dealer behaving this way in my local area. One compliment I can give, is the Service department have always been friendly and helpful when I needed an oil change. The Sales dept in my experience, after you take delivery have only been unhelpful.
