Chicago's Taste Authority - Minneapolis
"In 2004, the Dubnecay brothers started a successful business on 42nd and Hiawatha in South Minneapolis. Originally named “Chris & Rob’s Chicago’s Taste Authority” they started with Chicago-Style Dogs, Italian Beef Sandwiches as well as the must-have Maxwell Street Polish. Customers, both Chicago transplants and Minnesota locals, responded with the power of The Windy City and the business grew from there.Rob claims to have the only "authentic Chicago style food in the area.” The proof is in the fact they serve true 100% beef dogs, polish sausage and Italian beef. Made fresh exclusively for Chicago’s Taste Authority by a fourth-generation family meat merchant. No nitrates, No preservative. Never frozen. Shipped from Chicago to Minnesota."

Beefy, cheesy, tasty. Good food with several options. I wasn't overly impressed, but everything was good and wasn't disappointed. Was in town for a visit and have family here that are regulars, and with picky eater nieces, that says a lot. I'd like to try a few other menu options too.
Wonderful place for hotdogs and Italian beef - $7-$12 a meal - would highly recommend to try. Pictures are full loaded Italian beef and gyro cheese fries.
Staff was friendly and our order came out in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a Chicago dog that was good, but nothing I'd necessarily get excited to come back for. I also ordered a side of tator tots that were hot, but lacked flavor maybe needed some more salt which is an easy enough fix. Overall I think this could be a great place with a unique atmosphere it was an incredibly slow Monday if they stepped up their food a notch.
Good food. Small quaint restaurant. We ordered cheese fries because I love cheese. The fries are soooo good that I think I would have preferred them by themselves in order to really appreciate them. I really wanted to try their pizza...guess I will need to return soon.
The best Hotdog outside of the windy city! Great customer service and an even better environment.
As a Chicago transplant that grew up on thin crust, this place is a god send. Awesome thing crust with no skimping on the toppings. Authentic beef sandwiches as well. A definite gem in Minneapolis
I don't crave a Chicago dog often, but when I do, CTA ia where I go. I'm not sure how much value this review has, since I only ever get that one item, but I'm giving five stars for a delicious, authentic Chicago dog all the way up here in Minneapolis. Highly recommended.
VISITED 21OCT2022 - First time visiting. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean, including the restroom. I ordered an Italian beef and a Polish sausage. I've never had sautéed bell peppers on an Italian beef in Chicago or at other Minneapolis restaurants. The Italian beef sandwiches I've ordered have included giardiniera mild or hot. The bell peppers were cut into fairly large pieces rather than thin strips. Cooked bell peppers alone were a bit strong which is why I personally don't like pepper steak either. I was not pleased with the amount of meat on the Italian beef sandwich. Other locations pile the meat on compared to CTA. The Polish sausage was not the type or quality of sausage I've had in Chicago or other Minneapolis restaurants. It's the type of Polish sausage I may have purchased from a grocery store.
Ordered 3 hotdogs and two polish. Got five hotdogs!!!! Ask for my address to send a gift certificate. Asked them to email it. Told me they couldn’t. Why do you need my personal address? We’re in the digital age!! Told them flat out to keep the money never coming back. Worst 50 bucks I ever spent.
Great food as always! Restaurant is clean and has been a family favorite for 19+ years at Mpls, Fridley and St Paul locations. Support their remaining Mpls location as much as you can. Thanks for the great food!
