Story

China Lights Oriental Cuisine in Anchorage, AK is a Pan-Asian restaurant that offers an excellent buffet, as well as table service, take out, and delivery. China Lights is perfect for birthday parties, wedding banquets, and Christmas parties with an extremely elegant party room that accommodates 110 people. We also have a stylish VIP room that is ideal for business meetings. It is wonderfully furnished with precious antiques with hand made silver ware, and holds up to a party of 20.

When you walk into China Lights Oriental Cuisine, you will see Chinese-inspired paintings, glass windows with bamboo-engraved art, marbled floors, terracotta statues and tables with designs that include cranes, crawfish and exotic birds. The restaurant has a capacity of over 250 seats and has over 60 different buffet options, including sushi, salad, soup and appetizer bars. We are committed to freshness and health-conscious cooking. We also serve a variety of tofu and vegetable dishes for customers seeking a healthy balance to their meals. Customer favorites include our Mongolian beef and snow crab.

Kids loved it. I liked the kid prices for the buffet: $7 for 5 yrs old and under, $13 for 6-10 yrs old. Adult price was $25. The buffet was split into four bars: one with soup and edamame/wontons/buns, one with meat dishes and kid friendly stuff, one with seafood and not great sushi, one with salads and desserts. Guessing Monday through Thursday they don't have special buffet items. Usually Dinner on Friday - Sunday have wonderful dinner specials You can order various items from the regular menu But you always get a little of everything
This buffet restaurant wasn’t too bad. They had a variety of dishes and were savory to my family of 7. I wish they had more dessert options but it was alright. Our greeter was nice and friendly. I didn’t get the chance to take photos and taste every dish, but I can recommend this place. Good food and friendly service.
The buffet here was excellent. A wide variety. Was very impressed. Atmosphere and staff most pleasant. Clean, well ran. Not sure but had a family ran vibe to it. This is definitely my go to for a buffet. As well as a single meal.
Lots of choices! During busy times they have a hard time keeping pans full, I waited 30 minutes for one entree to be refilled on the buffet line, left before it was filled...slightly pricey..best peanut butter chicken!!! Only thing missing on the buffet that would make it great in my opinion are crab wontons...you can order other options off the menu in addition to the buffet.
The food is good, my favorite is the soup with the dumplings. Only thing is they need to be careful of is the crab!!!! Every time I eat it I always get one that is bad! It smells like urine and that is not good. Hopefully no one has gotten sick from it. I don’t eat it anymore… I did mention it and the lady mumbled something but basically she just dismissed me. Other than that everything else is good!!
Cash vs Credit card charge was different party of 4. Price per person was supposed to be $29.96 for cash self tip of 4.99 included was charged $34.43 double self tip. Worker pressed everything without asking if we wanted to tip more than the base price on the credit card machine. Only gave it to me when it was ready to sign no option to chose or refuse tip. Service was good but not great. Food wasn't bad but was not anything to be excited about. I am never going here again.

Delicious food!!! Quite pricy though, especially take out from the buffet which is over $12/lb. The flavors were delicious though & I would go back.
Fast, clean, friendly, and a large variety of food on the buffet bar. They have old favorites as well as different options that aren't always available. There's always something for everyone and the staff is very quick to clear plates and offer refills. Kid-friendliness: Has the typical chicken nuggets and French fries for kids that are picky as well desserts
