One of the joys of dining is just stopping at an unknown, out-of-the-way Chinese restaurant and suddenly having a memorable meal. This is certainly true of China One. The food is spectacular. Take the cashew chicken. The dish was studded with juicy slices of white meat, flavorful and pearly. The celery and carrots were crunchy. The chow mein featured tasty noodles I couldn't stop slurping. And the fried rice was crispy and smushy all at once. I watched the chef prepare the food. Flames flared over the wok as he deftly kept everything under control. Of course there is no atmosphere and little to know decoration. It actually looks like eateries IN China. The real negative is the staff. Maybe it's cultural, but they were cold to the point of rude. Prices are affordable. Lunch specials are a steal. You can have a full meal for $10 or less. If you can stomach the difficulty of getting by the staff, this is a terrific place to eat. The tastiness of the food is worth it! Vegetarian options: By definition Chinese food has a lot of vegetarian options. Asians in general are geniuses with vegetables. That is certainly true at One China. All the vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly al dente. Yum. Parking: Home Depot is the anchor. There is always plenty of parking. Maybe not right in front but still close by. FREE Kid-friendliness: Nothing fancy so kids can be kids. What kid doesn't like Chinese food? Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is in a large strip center. There is easy accessibility with lots of ramps.
Don't let the reviews fool you! The food is excellent and affordable, and the service is fast. There are usually the same two people at the register. I initially had the same impression about customer service; it was rude. I am now a returning customer and lean more towards the lack of communication is because of cultural differences. The food is worth dealing with a quiet cashier.
I ordered chicken teriyaki it was terrible chicken was overcooked vegetables were undercooked! When I called to tell them how terrible it was she said you always order something else I said I know how chicken teriyaki is supposed to taste! The teriyaki sauce was as thin as waterFood: 1/5
Order general chicken the chicken came up saggy without any pineapple order a can soda they tell you they don’t have a cup they don’t have ice and then they charge you delivery fee three dollars plus the sales tax plus tell you to tip an additional three dollars to the delivery guy so between sales tax delivery and the additional tip you’re paying almost 9 dollars on two plates, which each plates cost you almost $12 for poor service poor customer service. I will be reporting this restaurant to the licensing and the Better Business Bureau first thing tomorrow morning. The lady that takes the order extremely rude and as I said after charging you all the additional fees, delivery fee three dollars they want you to tip on top of that so by the time you finish adding sales tax delivery and tip, you’re an additional nine dollars these people are coming to this country to rob You . so after spending over $35 on the previous order, they never get the general chicken replaced and corrected. Never brought any ice never brought any cups and then they try to get you for more money sounds like. Complete chaos
If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered on line at 6:12 pm and never received my food. I called several times and they told me it was on its way. I left my house at 8:20 to get my money back, since I paid with a card i did not get my money. Now i have to wait and hope they do return my money to my card. I paid $59 +tip for nothing!! Ugh im so upset right now and hungry. I will never order from here again.
I love the combination chow mein, they give me so much protein. I’m addicted. I would give 5 stars but the young cashier just needs a little customer service training. I do not feel welcomed when she is the cashier but otherwise good chow mein.Food: 5/5
The food was good but however the service was horrible bad bad attitudes and then they act like they didn’t want to provide any napkins or utensils
Customer always welcoming when I come for my take out order. General chicken always good and freshFood: 4/5
China One = Terrible Egg Foo Yung. I have eaten Egg Foo Yung at Chinese restaurants in nearly every major city in the U.S. and many in rural towns. All of them were better than this on any level. This experience was horrible and upsetting. To put my experience in perspective, Panda , which has always been bad is like gourmet level compared to this place. I had not eaten well all week due to schedules. My regular go-to place was closed so I decided to try this place. The eggs were rubbery, the pork? was boiled and had so much gristle, I choked. Some was long gristle. I mean every bite was bad. And the patties were so uniform , they couldn't have been scratch-made. Who knows? Possibly frozen. Disgusting. The gravy was like a cheap beige- color . like frozen turkey level. Picture an Egg Foo Yung patty that you cannot cut with a fork unless you rreally press hard. Had egg rolls as well, mostly dough and grease. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.
You know the food slaps when you call and immediately get put on hold! Good food and fast, big portions, plenty of rice. LOVE the combination egg foo young with the gravy and the chow mein has such good flavor!Food: 5/5
