I lived in Chengdu, Sichuan for 2 months. I have pretty much given up with ever eating traditional Sichuan food ever again. Nope! Here it is. My friend told me about it, so I came and tried one of the most difficult Chinese dishes - twice cooked pork. JUST the way it is in Sichuan. This was an excellent restaurant, where everything is almost transplanted from a roadhouse in the environs of Chengdu. OH! Did you know the beers were 3.95 a pop? Where do you see THAT anymore? Got an hour before your movie? Check out this place. It was a blast of authenticity from a world obsessed with fake quasi-native foods that are just so missable...

As an American who was always turned off by Chinese food, I got to say, China Star drew me in and got me hooked. Now I go every week. I love the spicy chicken (la zi ji). I take my wife here every week. The service is AMAZING. Every time I was 100% satisfied. You got to try this place out!

Ordered take out but the waitress on the other end of phone was extremely unprofessional. She acts impatiently for each and every instruction to make the dish non-spicy. I don’t understand what’s their problem. If they don’t want dishes to be customizable, then they should hire better cooks and get a few Michelin stars.

BLAND! They did not greet us, just asked how many, they don't tell you but the only served cold unsweetened tea and expect you to sweeten it with sugar as if it will dissolve quickly. I then asked for a Coke, received a can of Coke that was just sat on the table. Offered no refills... not even the glass of water my daughter drank. The fork on the table was bent, which is the only utensil you will receive on top of one paper napkin. My son had to get salt, pepper and soy from another table. The sauce on the General Two's chicken was very thick and had this funny "old dish water" taste to it. The rice was tasteless. Didn't have the nerve to try the broccoli. The egg roll was very good. I was served a packet of duck sauce with it smh. But was good. No kids items or portions served there. These people did not even say goodnight!

I ordered Sesame chicken, dumplings, and fried rice... The dumpling were like 90% dough and the dipping sauce tasted of strong garlic, tbh I thought i accidentally order garlic knots. The fired rice tasted like straight up butter and was pretty unappetizing. the Sesame chicken was alright but by a slim margin. I don't ask a lot of a Chinese food restaurant, but come on this is just sad.
