Personalized trail riding, from beginners to seasoned riders. Enjoy the only truly open trail riding format in DFW, at all gaits; by rider preference!

Story

We are an open, horseback riding in Dallas, TX trail riding company. We also offer lessons for both children and adults. We are perfect for a Birthday and Anniversary activity; or a fun weekend outing. We have horses that range from beginner riders, through experienced riders. We offer an individual, personalized, horseback riding experience. We have higher level horses available for the accomplished equestrian. We also offer different breeds of horses. Our beginner level horses are perfect to learn how to ride, and continue riding. We do not do "follow the leader" trails. We are the only true open trail riding company in the Dallas Fort Worth tri city metropolis. We offer a complimentary half hour of riding in the arena. This allows our clients to learn how to communicate with their wonderful equine partner, letting them experience a relaxed, and fun time. We cater to both adults and families. We make sure that we ride to our clients preference, or riding level. Our riders can ride at all gaits: walk, trot, and canter, of the horse. We can accommodate multiple levels of riders, in a relaxed manner, on the same trail. We wrote our website www.Chisholmtrailrides.com around our client inquires, so please check it out! This place is great! I scheduled last minute and it unfortunately had rain in the forecast for that day but they worked with me to reschedule super quick and easy and made sure I got out on the trail before I headed home to PA. The people are super friendly and really know about their horses, indulged my million questions and even let me see some of the other horses I was eyeing up. The horse I had, Leyla, was a gem and the scenery was very relaxing. All in all it was an awesome trip!

BBB D+ rating! Booked a Friday trail ride for our two daughters and it was delayed due to weather. Nathan said that Laura the manager would call us back to give us an update but we never received any calls from them. We called multiple times and were told that we would be called as soon as they knew something. We called the next day to inquire about a refund and Nathan told us to file a chargeback with our credit card company. I finally got to speak with Laura over the phone after insisting that I would not wait on a call back, but would just hold the line until she was available. Once she was she talked so fast and would not listen to the problem or provide a solution. She continued to say they were so busy and made excuses that she was trying to solve the problem but the first step in doing that is to LISTEN. Which she clearly doesn't know how to do. I'm glad I recorded the call. I interrupted her to ask for a refund and she then hung up. Checked the BBB website and google reviews and looks like I'm not the first paying customer with this problem, and unfortunately probably won't be the last. STEER CLEAR AND BUYER BEWARE. KEEP LOOKING FOR A DIFFERENT BUSINESS. *UPDATE 5/17/18 Wow! What a response! lol As you can judge by their wordy response this pretty much matches the earful I got on the phone. I'm glad the credit card company agreed with me and refunded the charge!

My wife and I had a really good time riding. Very accommodating and friendly folks that seem to take good care of their animals and put safety of the rider and horse first. It seems like most of the negative reviews are from people who didn’t read through the website. Just make sure you read all the details.

BEWARE - They will steal your money. They will NOT return any form of communication and they have no intention of honoring a valid advance cancellation notice. I booked a horseback ride for a trip we were taking to Dallas, but within days of booking it I found out that the location was really far from where my parents lived and there were closer options for us. I immediately called to cancel, where their voice mail explains the better forms of communication to reach them. I didn't leave a voice mail that first day in order to follow their instruction and use email as a way to reach them. I immediately sent an email and requested a cancellation and a refund a week prior to the booked ride, which the site requests at least 72 hour notice. I followed up multiple times with capital letters in my email requesting some form or acknowledgment. I then received a text message from the Owner, generically responding to the voicemail and phone call I had placed again. This text did not acknowledge the message I left and just informed me that they were working down their call list and asked that if I had inquiries to go to their website. I immediately responded to this text message with my cancellation request and referenced all the emails I had sent. NO RESPONSE still! Unacceptable. Finally we left for Texas on Thanksgiving day and the next day, the day of the ride I get a phone call from them asking where we were and I explained all of the above. I told them I had called my credit card company to cancel the charge. I asked them to refund the money and they did NOTHING. BEWARE they will take your money and not respond to you, so just be sure you will not need to cancel. I am sure they do a great job on the trail rides, but as a general way to run their business - it is both disappointing and questionable. I feel pretty sure they just chose to ignore my requests because they wanted to keep my money.

The best horse riding place I've ever been to everybody was super friendly and very excited to help us with anything we needed I will definitely be coming back great for beginners and experienced riders
