Chocolaterie Stam - Des Moines

Stopped here for gelato after eating lunch down the street. Everyone behind the counter was extremely nice and helpful. They were patient and let us try a few before making a decision. Their gelato was delicious! It was the perfect finish to our meal. I don't like chocolate but I'm tempted to go back and try it considering how good their gelato is!

I searched for “best ice cream near me” and found this WONDERFUL little shop. The cherry mascarpone gelato was sumptuous down to the last bite. I wanted a little coffee, and got the best cup of coffee I’ve had in Des Moines! I would go back for the gelato or coffee alone, but the service was the highlight of my whole experience! BRAVO!!!

I live in Kentucky but lived in Des Moines for 11 years just prior. So happy they’ll ship. Best chocolate anywhere in the world. My two Des Moines families have shopped there since Stam opened in Des Moines. Long time ago. And what brilliant consistency in excellence! But they set me straight on my habit of saying “ ‘Stam Good!!!”. Stam is pronounced like Tom.

Sat on the patio with music over speakers and cute little birds and flowers growing. Ate gelato and staff brought out cold water to us. So nice! Lived the sale selection of cards and enjoyed buying my daughter chocolates for her birthday.

Such a hidden gem! My friend and I visited this lovely chocolate shop and were greeted with a historical journey into Stam’s Fine European Chocolates. The staff were also very sweet and had great customer service skills- very attentive! We will be returning.

Workers were very friendly. The one piece of chocolate I had was excellent. My husband's gelato was quite tasty also. I didn't see any butter toffee with chocolate on top which is a favorite of mine. Maybe they'll add it there were several varieties of chocolate and fudge. My hot chocolate and my husband's coffee were also good. I think it was definitely worth the stop. The ice cream is a work of art. And I left some there and they are holding on to it. For the next day, when I can pick it up. I thought it was gone a self warming cat may. Thank you, for finding it and holding it.

The chocolate is amazing with a huge variety. The staff was very nice and engaging!
