Very homely Korean restaurant at outer area of Ala Moana shopping center. Super casual. Reasonable, tasty side dish and good meat Jun. I like their tofu soup but I decided to try beef soup this time. Everything was tasty.
My girlfriend and I got the hot stone bibimbap.I got the seafood and vegetable hot stone bibimbap and she got her a tofu and vegetable bibimbap. A tofu and vegetable bibimbap is not on the menu so you will have to ask the server for it. My girlfriend and I shared japchae. The food here is a bit expensive. I paid about $54 not including tip. I don’t beleive it costs that much for these 3 dish. There are many other places in Hawaii that is a lot cheaper. The waitress just wrote down a number on a peice of paper and not how much each item cost. Not wanting to make a muckus, I paid. I think she included the tip into the check and I might have paid tip on top of that Tip. I have been here several times and I try to avoid eating here but I decided to give this place another chance today. My brother and his friends have told me thst they got terrible service by an "old woman" who works there so they refused to tip. Upon not tipping, this old woman would try to hold the door to prevent them from leaving because they refused to tip. I beleive that is holding someone hostage. This woman would also chase them out to the parking lot to demand that they pay the tip. Do I recommend going here? No. The food is great but even when I came here today, the service was terrible. The waitress was not very attentive to requests. She would run back and forth to the kitchen and yell something in Korean while taking my order. The restroom isn't clean.
I have always been intimidated try out this restaurant since the outside looks very rundown, but it actually looks pretty decent inside. The all-day specials are at such a great price for very delicious Korean food - their kimchi jjigae tastes as good as the one I make at home! Will definitely eat here again.. But probably better to go to the one near the H-Mart in Kaka'ako.
This has become our go-to Korean take-out place over the past year. Haven't had a bad dish yet, and I've ordered the stir-fried squid every time -- just the right amount of tteokbokki. No liquor license, but you can pick up soju at nearby Nijiyq Market while you wait for your order. Parking is easy.
Awesome authentic Korean food. Don't let the outside deceive you, it's a great mom and pop small restaurant. Great price!Food: 5/5
Pretty good Korean restaurant. Got the meat jun and it was a decent amount of food for the price. Sides tasted fine.
The server ignored us and then proceeded to help the customer that came in after us and sat them in the last seat. She then told us to wait outside for a table and then sat the next group of people who came in shortly after. One of the worse service I have ever received.
Definitely looks hotter than it is. It’s just the right amount of Hotness in this beef soup Yukhaejang. The meat Jun is also great and just the right amount of meat vs egg batter. The sauce was a little sweet but bearable. The waitress is nice and the seating is plentiful. Parking is out front and if you go late when everything else is closed then you will have no problem. gomabseubnida
Great quality food. Absolutely delicious. Fast and friendly service. It’s a small place, but they have a good menu with a lot of selection. The prices are reasonable. All in all this is a great spot to drop in for fantastic Korean food. The spicy chicken was awesome.
An inexpensive Korean place in a corner of a strip mall with cla selection of conventional Korean meals. You get what you pay for. All-day specials are supposed to be smaller portions than the usual but we found them to be more than sufficient for us for lunch.
