Spirit Stardust...I am sorry that you feel that way...please give Pastor Lionel another chance as he has worked with the youth ministry and pours his heart into his teaching. Like any human being...he falls short of the image of God...this is why we should not knock down our brothers and sisters but build them up and communicate with them so that we do not deter others who are searching for hope.
Christ church will transform your life...the presence of God is very strong and you will get support in every area of your life!

I have been going to this church for 2 years and have never had an issue....until today. While the sermon was going on my baby who is 10 months started to babble a bit. Not continuously, not loudly, she was not crying and she was not fussing. She was simply babbling here and there as babies naturally do. An older male usher came up to me and said “your baby” and gave me a stern look. I responded, she’s a baby. And turned back to hear the word. She babbled a second time and another older woman came and gave me a very nasty look. I ignored it. The third time a woman came over and handed me a card......which by far had the rudest message on it. It basically said any crying or loud baby is not welcome in the sanctuary and please let the usher shoo you away somewhere else. I have never felt so disrespected. My innocent baby who was just so happy to have just heard so much singing and praising and was now hearing the pastor was not welcome in church!!!!! How can this be that the most innocent of all is the most unwelcome???? I got up and went to speak to the person who handed me the card and let her know that that was very rude. To which she simply said oh well you can file a complaint. She ushered me out where she wrote up an “incident report” and told me there are other areas that I can hear the word on a tv screen. I told her if I wanted to watch on tv i would have stayed home.
Mind you just a couple of weeks ago the pastor was preaching about being a more welcoming place for children, babies and young adults and the church neeeding to make some changes to make all feel included.....yet hear I was publicly judged, singled out and embarrassed (at least that’s what they tried to do) in a packed church and for what.....I honestly could not tell you. And to think they were asking for donations to make these big changes and I was going to make a large contribution as I believed in what was being said.....but now I know it was all a ruse.
This is most certainly not the first church I have been to and I have actually been to a church where my baby began to cry. And as I was getting up to take her out I was told by the women sitting around me to sit down and not worry I did not have to take the baby out because of that.....everyone knows how babies are and it was not a big deal. Yet here I was today with a happy baby......and at Christ Church it was an issue. I am..........the only word that can come close to describe the emotion is......disappointed. I truly thought this was a place where all were welcome , where you could worship free from judgement and ridicule. If the stakes were a little higher and my baby was fussy.....I would have naturally had some anxieties already with trying to calm her down.....but then to allow ushers to add to the high stress situation by being rude and disrespectful is totally uncalled for and far from Christian like. Shame on you Christ Church for only pretending to welcome all with open arms. This is no place for mother’s to go. You and your babies are not welcome here.

The message taught here is very practical, relatable & biblical. It is a welcoming atmosphere. The worship music is always good.

the singing was great but I really don't think Lionel king should be a pastor... he opened up the service saying "you kick the dog" talking about how it's cold outside... he didn't reiterate that ethier.. I am only going to go back for the singing... I pray that he resigns and I don't have to hear him preach.
