Mission

"...designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing."
—Mary Baker Eddy

"Located in the heart of Back Bay, the Christian Science Plaza is the largest privately owned, publicly accessible open space in Boston at about 13.5 acres. It was revitalized in 2018 to be more environmentally friendly and sustainable and to improve quality of life for the Boston community. It houses the Reflecting Pool and the Children's Fountain. The Mother Church and The Christian Science Publishing Society are also located in this Plaza along with the new interactive experience at the Christian Science Publishing House, "How Do You See the World?", which includes the Mapparium globe. We welcome over 100,000 visitors each year from all over the world."

Nothing really spectacular about this place but it’s relaxing and the fountain is fun to watch.
This is a beautiful place indeed, but don't try taking pictures of the fountains, because a security guard falsely accused a friend who was with me, of taking pictures of children that weren't his. Lol, never knew taking pictures of the fountains wasn't allowed. The security guard kept looking at us, the remainder of the time we were there. My friend and I may think twice about going back here again, unfortunately.
We decided to visit the Christian Science Plaza aka Mary Baker Eddy Library for the purpose of seeing the Mapparium which is the main attraction for most visitors, yet they do not want you to take pictures inside the globe. Unlike most reviews, we were not beat on the overhead or cornered by staff talking about religion, it is far from that all. The cost was only $6 per adult and free for kids 17 and under. The Mapparium is like walking inside a huge globe so if you are claustrophobic then this may not be for you, but overall, it was a great experience.
beautiful especially at night, just be careful walking on the fountain. I didn’t know what it was because there was no water and it just looked like flooring but I almost got arrested. 10/10 experience!
It was beautiful as always. Unfortunately it was closed during the Thanksgiving Saturday this year so I wasn't able to go inside, but it's always a lovely stroll around its buildings and reflecting pool. Looking forward to going inside someday, I imagine it's quite spectacular :
Not to be missed! Short on time, only walked past the Plaza and refelcting pool. Had not seen it for 48 years. Still as beautiful. Will make time to take in the Mary Baker Library, etc... next time.
Amazing to see and free of charge. I used to live around the corner from this place and I would try to got through here whenever I had the chance. It's such a wonderfully architected is that a word building. In the summer you can see kids playing in the fountain outside. You don't need to plan on staying long unless you want to go inside. If you have a spare five to ten minutes of time and you are walking around in the area Boston is an amazing walking city then I highly recommend you walk through the outside of this building
Beautiful place, not tourist spot but definitely worth visiting.
Lovely spot to sit and relax, definitely don't agree with the Christian Science religion, but loved spending some relaxing time in the plaza. Enjoyed watching families splashing in the fountain, a beautiful spot.
Chanced upon the reflecting pool. There's a fountain here as well.
