Chronos Contracting

Peter and his guys do excellent work. I own a hundred-year-old brownstone and I've hired Chronos Contracting twice now for different projects. Both times the entire process has been painless and the work has been excellent. I particularly appreciate that Peter was very communicative about how the project was going and scheduling - I never felt like I was unsure or in the dark about anything. I highly recommend them and definitely will be reaching out to Chronos again when I need more work done.

Chronos Contracting was fantastic to work with. I needed work done to repair a water leak, which involved re-plastering, painting, and some lightweight demo. Peter and his team did fantastic work with a great eye towards detail, keeping me up to date every step of the way. Their work was also timely and fit within my budget. I deeply trust them and the work they do and recommend them highly.

Chronos recently did some boxing in work in the stairwell of our coop. Peter was terrific to work with--his estimate was reasonable, he finished right on time and listened carefully to any concerns I expressed along the way. He supervised his workmen they were also terrific and his work was excellent. I would recommend Chronos.

Peter and the Chronos team did a great job on my closet renovation project. I had the doorway openings enlarged for four closets that involved drywall work as well as fabricating new custom size bi-fold doors. On time, on budget, detailed communications, and first rate quality work. My former experience with contractors has always been at least one of those four things would go wrong. To my pleasant surprise, they managed to exceed my expectations across the board. Chronos' bid was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive of the contractors I contacted. However, Peter's proposal was clearly the most well thought out and detailed, which gave me added confidence that they would do a good job. I am a satisfied client and would not hesitate to recommend or hire Peter and his team again when I am ready to tackle future renovation projects.

Chronos Contracting does truly exceptional work. My husband and I have used Chronos Contracting for multiple projects in our home, ranging from painting to larger demolition and construction projects. We were in excellent hands with Peter and his team. The work gets completed with incredible attention to detail and is done in a timely, cost-effective manner. Peter and his team are easy to work with, always on budget and on time, high quality, considerate and thoughtful. They've helped us with a variety of projects, from painting, plastering and tile work to plumbing including several life-saving or at least downstairs neighbor-saving emergencies and electrical, always with excellent results.

Peter and his crew did a fantastic job on our 3-room gut reno, including installing a full kitchen. Every aspect of the job was top-notch, including carpentry, plastering and painting. It's been 4 years since the job was completed, and every day we appreciate how great the kitchen and other reno work turned out.

This is what we had done: the living room ceiling repaired, reinforced, and plastered; the walls in the living room, kitchen, halls, and bathroom re-plastered and painted; soundproofing done on one long wall in the living room and one kitchen wall; custom closet doors built and installed; one of the closet interior shelving units adjusted; the tub reglazed; the kitchen cabinets raised; the old kitchen floor taken out and replaced with a Moroccan encaustic cement floor; a new sink plumbed; a handmade ceramic tile backsplash installed; outlets and under-cabinet lights added in the kitchen; a new counter top and fridge installed. If you've done this before or know anyone else who has, you are probably aware that finding a good contractor is like finding the holy grail... there are so many nightmare stories about people who don't show up, who take your money and leave you hanging, and who do a crummy job. This was our experience 11 years ago when we first bought our apartment and we definitely did not want to go through that again. Thankfully we found Chronos Contracting! Peter is great! When he first came to take a look at our place he noticed we have shoes on a mat in the hall and asked if he should take his off before entering. That told us immediately that this guy is paying attention and really cares about people's homes! After talking about what we wanted done and hearing his ideas we had a good feeling about him and decided to go with Chronos although we had gotten a lower bid from someone else. We are extremely happy with our decision and I can say unequivocally that we more than got our money's worth because Peter went above and beyond in so many ways. He is incredibly conscientious and knowledgeable, had great suggestions, and his attention to detail is impressive. One of the things we needed done was sound proofing, and it was really nice to know that Peter had experience with the very solution we had come up in our own research. For the Moroccan encaustic cement tile installation, he did his due diligence and consulted with the manufacturer before proceeding. He also checked in with us all the time to make sure we were happy with the way things were going, and he threw in little extras here and there. We added a bunch of stuff to our original work request but all went very quickly and without any hassle. His crew is great also... really nice guys who care about their work. I will definitely hire Chronos Contracting for any future work I might need done and I highly recommend him to anyone out there wanting a talented, no-BS contractor who will do a great job and leave you loving your apartment.
