Church of Christ

Please PRAY for this congregation! They are headed in the direction of just about anything goes. Recently we visited and during the middle of worship, the minister Dale stood up and all the kids ran forward and got on stage to sing "If you're happy and you know it, the Christian version". Included in this song was hand clapping, stomping your feet, jumping for Jesus and spinning around from left to right, and then in reverse order right to left! I have family in the denomination world of man-made churches, and before being added to the Church, I've visited some of the church of God in Christ aka COGIC, Pentecostal, and Apostolic churches, I've seen this type of behavior before, but never did I ever think I'd see it in the Churches of Christ! I have seen other Churches of Christ leaning towards a denominational way of worship where just about anything goes. In the near future, it would not surprise me one bit at all to learn that Roseville Church of Christ has praise dancers, rhythmic hand clapping while jumping up and down, (the minister did those things with the kids while we were there) running up and down the isles, mimicking musical instruments with their mouths, choirs, solo's, etc. The Roseville Church of Christ is well on it's way! One other thing, I must mention that during one of the prayers, the Brother mention the resurrection and "how we (Roseville) would be celebrating it at easter in just a few short weeks". I've been on vacation and visited a Church of Christ in the Los Angeles area where one of the elders was wearing a large gold cross on a large gold chain as he stood up and told the kids they better behave if they were going to be part of the easter egg hunt after service. Congregations doing these things in hope of attracting more people or trying to appeal to carnal minded worldly people will only produce shallow plants calling themselves Christian. Please PRAY for this congregation and all the others doing things that can't be found in the Scriptures! Able
