Moved in on day one of new management takeover. The old group did us dirty & we moved into a completely unfinished unit. There was a bit of back and forth but eventually we were upgraded to a new unit that was nice in ready. Dan & Maria were so nice & accommodating! Moving once is stressful nonetheless twice in a week. Still waiting on a few move in fixes, otherwise we have been really happy here! Nice & quiet neighborhood, centrally located & near the highway. very thankful for all their help!
I’m love my apartment and the community. Like all places, there is always room for improvement. There has been a change in management recently and this community is on the move up. Becca, assistant manager, has been here since I moved in 15 months ago. She is absolutely amazing. In fact, I feel like she has been keeping it going here for a while. The new manager has been able to take a lil off her plate which in turn frees her up to be even better at her job then she already was. She has helped me with all my concerns and is great at her job. Because of her I was able to upgrade into a larger apartment when my initial lease was up. She handled everything smoothly and timely. I’m very happy to be here and plan to stay for a few more years.
UPDATE: Owner provided a phone number for me to call, listed below, it's a non working number. Still, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe a wrong key was hit by mistake. Guess, we'll see. Thought this place was going to be "it" based on the pictures. Paid my $400 application fee and Becca was on top of it, until she found out I had already scheduled a viewing then it was radio silence. Went to see the apartment, and while the young man was nice enough, he obviously had not been trained. Walking up the 4 flights of stairs, after walking on a very icy walkway, there was trash in the stairwell, used masks, cigarette butts, and just general filth. I tried to keep an open mind. When we got the the fourth floor I was appalled! Residents had bags, yes bags, of trash outside their doors, someone had let their child/children color all over the hall with chalk, everything could be heard through closed doors. Walk into the apartment and it was NOTHING like the pictures! There is no way that was 1000 sq. feet. My son even asked if this was one of the remodeled units, the gentleman touring us had no idea. When I said that this didn't look that the unit I was interested in he said "maybe you looked at another unit" not offer to show another floor plan. Obviously, I decided this wasn't the place for me. Monday morning I emailed Becca requesting my application fee be refunded, not a single word back from her. Left 3 voicemails, no returned call. I then contacted Hue the person who answered my initial inquiry about the apartment who said they had forwarded my concerns to the office. Well here we are three days later and I still haven't heard a word. This is no way to run a business, and certainly not a way to get people into your complex. It also speaks volumes to the way they would respond, or not, to any needs you may have as a resident. Don't waste your money or your time.
pros: - rent is OK for the area if you rent during the right time of the year - units are fine inside. pretty typical for this style of apartments. counters/cabinets/appliances are sorta flimsy and anything on a wall hinges, switches, etc has definitely been painted over with every new tenant. but nothing that makes the units especially ugly or uncomfortable. - parking is whatever. at least it’s not wyatt’s cons: - the area is not as safe as you’d expect. no violent crime or anything, but lots of car break ins, stolen mail, etc. - don’t expect any maintenance in your unit while you’re here. - been waiting 4 months to get a toilet fixed - been waiting 2 months for a roof leak and ruined drywall - waited 3 months to have a busted interior door replaced by an unpainted door with a mismatched handle - waited 3 months to have an exterior deadlock fixed - fireplace has never worked - mailboxes were broken 6 months before i moved in which was conveniently not mentioned beforehand and weren’t fixed for another 7 months - don’t expect to get mail here either. UPS and FedEx will deliver to the door, but the mailboxes are usually busted and there’s no parcel room to accept USPS packages. - communication from the complex has at times been unprofessional. excuses for why maintenance is held up, accusing amazon drivers of smashing packages on purpose, passive-aggressive reminders about community policies, etc. - Community management has so far refused to acknowledge the revocation of my consent for them to use my name and statements, despite this right being granted in the terms of the lease
The apartments themselves are nice enough so if that's all you care about then this place is okay. However if you expect to be able to have the staff help you when things in your apartment need repair or issues arise then I would recommend any other place in the city. The office staff will not answer your email or calls and the maintenance staff will not fix something for you and then close your repair request saying they have months after opening it. This apartment complex could be so much better if they replace their manager with someone that can actually do their job and help people efficiently. If you want a good alternative I lived at Milehouse that's nearby for 3 years and never had an issue. I'm sure the staff will respond saying they do care and handle things but don't fall for it and find a better place to live
What a difference in the last couple of months! Trees trimmed, no more potholes...... the complex looks so very nice now. Always a great location from light rail, I-25, restaurants and now with all that Management has done in the last couple of months even better. Great staff from the office personnel to maintenance.
I hate this place. 3 days of construction in my apt while I work… yep. I have to do it and there’s no way around it. They forgot to change the AC filter for over a year and now there is water damage. Yep move here if you want things to break and when they have to get fixed there is no way they’ll work with you so just grin and bare it or else… eviction. Oh also mail boxes have been broken into and they will not fix the problem. If you expect anything valuable kiss it good bye. Edit: it actually took a month! The whole month of august and we are going to get a higher electric bill and a month of not being able to use out bathroom and closet!!! Waking me up early so they can work on it??? For a full month???? Also our mailboxes are still messed up but they are spending cash on painting the buildings than fixing out mailboxes.
Cierra Crest? More like Cierra PEST!!! We have no access to our mailbox since it’s been BROKEN for almost a year! We have 2 clogged sinks that still haven’t been fixed. We went weeks without AC. The hallways are filthy and the staff here is negligent and careless. Management is an absolute joke and the response times are atrocious. They also had the nerve to raise the rent a significant amount. It was once beautiful and desirable to live here but now it’s turned into a rundown slummy moneypit. We can’t wait to get out! If you’re looking to rent in the DTC area, do yourself and your loved ones a favor and DO NOT lease from Cierra Crest!!!
The people in the office are amazing. Becca, Bre and Christine as well as Maria try so hard to make Cierra Crest a great place to live. Maintance is great as well, though they need more staff since response times can be slow due to complex size. The apartments are getting a beautiful new paint job as well. They recently introduced an alternative to Comcast and CenturyLink for internet as well which is really nice! The downside is the mailboxes. They are constantly being broken into so don't expect mail to be delivered here. They should have been replaced years ago as they seem to be original to complex.
When we first moved in they gave us the wrong keys to our place and didn’t fix the mistake for over five hours. They recently had the building painted and I accidentally left my work shoes out front and instead of knocking on my door I was there they just went ahead and painted my shoes… had to pay $100 to get new ones. They gave me mail keys that don’t work for my mailbox, they never gave me a swimming pool key. It took them over two months to respond to a maintanence request of my garbage disposal and didn’t even fix it. I like our apartment but that’s about it. The leasing office has made living here super frustrating. I would look elsewhere in the area even if you’re paying a little bit more than what it costs here. It’s not worth it.
