City Diner

Sharing a celebratory luncheon with my nephew, family & friends. Congrats to my nephew for graduating Rutgers University-Newark with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology & minor in Creative Writing. City Diner is near the Jersey City waterfront. A beautiful day for a walk after lunch! I had a delicious BBQ rib sandwich, fries & French onion soup. My nephew's girlfriend who is from Arkansas, tried the Jersey disco fries, which she claimed was delicious. Service was exceptional!

I love this place since I entry, the environment and design is absolutely amazing. It was full of people and I understood why. I just get a breakfast, me and my friend, and it was delicious, also they have a lot of great options for breakfast and for sure for lunch or late dinner too. The attention by waitress was good and faster. Good also came in a good time. Higly recommended.

Ordered English fish and chips asking with a steak sandwich. Excellent fries. Nice and crispy. Also spotted me a bottle of Blanton's. Ordered me a shot of whiskey neat great little diner with your typical food fare. Great service. Nice ambianceFood: 4/5

The breakfast quesadilla I had was so good!!!! I am still thinking about it. I wanted a margarita it they made me something close to it. I really enjoyed the service I received. My server was very attentive and knowledgeable and I appreciated it! I went in the afternoon and it was pretty slow which I did not mind. I will definitely return here for another meal.

I highly recommend this restaurant. I went for breakfast & the food and service was amazing. I absolutely love french toast and this was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The bread was sweet and crispy with the best apple topping. Our server was Arlene and she was so attentive and kind. I would definitely go back here

This places is the best! Highly recommend and encourage you to try it out. The menu is great. I also stopped for breakfast and it was fantastic. Lots of food. You won’t leave hungry.

Great place. Nice atmosphere and great staff. Food was amazing with the exception of the chicken tenders. The breading was flavorless and over fried. Service was quick for a Tuesday, lunch date with the kids. Best of luck looking for free parking. Moderate prices. I shall return!

Chicken and eggs with home fries and toast for just $9.99! The Florentine egg Benedict is delicious. Totally worth it! Will come back soon. Went back a few days later and ordered the crab cake breakfast and it was delicious! All day breakfast, had breakfast for dinner and it was really satisfying. Fast service and attentive waitstaff. Still can’t believe a good and filing mela for two is just $30 for a location near the waterfront and the path station. I can see why it’s one of the local’s favorite restaurants. Update: It’s been one of my favorite local restaurants now after been dining here about five time in two months.

Good morning.. we had a good meal... And the waitress was very attentive... I really appreciate that. Good staffing choices A+. The piece of grilled chicken that came w/eggs in the 1st pic .. seasoned nicely, juicy, not thick not chewy not old really tasty piece of meat... I wanted more but that wasn't from my plate food lol imma add another star because of someone else food.

A great selection of breakfasts and friendly service. I took my family for their first American diner experience. We lucked out! The waitress asked us, "Is a booth ok?" Of course it was: got to have a booth. There were 6 cops eating there. I told my kids that it must be good if the cops go there. The service was excellent, the portions are huge, so no need to have extras.
