My husband took his valves and head too them because of a misfire problem and the first time we got it back from them it was leaking on cylinder 2,4,5 so we took it back and they called for us too pick it up and it was still leaking on the same cylinders very poor service if I could I would give 0 stars
Always the right part and fast service. Great bunch of guys that really know there stuff would and will recommend to everyone.
I brought in a spare 2002 Miata cylinder head, I wanted the valves checked and the head checked for flatness. This head came off a 130K engine with a slight rod tap, it was taken apart well before anything went drastically south. I wanted to bring in the head disassembled, I have many many spare heads and plenty of spare OEM valve shims. I would rather do this work myself. Whoever I spoke to pretty much insisted I bring the head fully assembled, so I relented. A few days later, maybe the next day, I got a call that my head was "near perfect" and that I could come get my head. I get to the shop, and grab my head and a box of cam gears and water necks. A few days later I get ready to install the head, I pull all the valves and replace stem seals. I now notice that only one of three intake cam caps are installed correctly, and that none of the caps are torqued to an equal figure, some are even finger tight. I go to the cardboard box to get the cam gears and am shocked to find they've needlessly decided to disassemble my VVT cam phaser and neatly stack it in the box like it's still one piece. Nobody said anything when I picked the head up. One of three machining limit marks in the casting was hit, and by looking at the intake runners it is clear that there is no way this thing was machined flat. When I called to ask for a new used cam phaser on ebay $200 I was told to go away or come fight some guy. This shop is full of hacks I wouldn't trust to rebuild my lawn mower.
Did a great job. Head was so clean it was almost impossible to pick it out of all the others that they had finished and waiting for pick up.
Other machine shops come and go these guys have been in business almost 50 years... so they must be doing something right... price is good and the quality is very good and garrented.. . they sell you what you need... they do not sell you stuff you don't need like other places do... I had a set of 1970s heads...they needed the exhaust seats change because of unleaded gas.. intakes were fine they don't get hot like the exhaust... places that are in it for the money ..others shops would talk me in too all 16 seats..to make more cash.. automotive machine shops honest I tell you the truth...got my head back complete in 36 hrs... Other shops say a week or 2..and you might get them in a month... I will be going back to CLARKS whenever I need engine machine work....
Honest and fast only place I'll go
Quick turn around time worth every penny. Definitely coming back for any work I need done in the future!
These guys are excellent at Machine Work. I am always treated with respect when you go into business. They always get my heads I need repaired the first time right. The turn around is normally in 24 hrs.
Have taken about half dozen heads to them over the years and 4 out of 6 i have had problems with. Wont be back. They've given me 2 heads back with a bent valve got a head back where they didnt change the cam seals and this last time was the last time got my head back and the cut the seats to hight so. Moral of the story if you got money and like doing stuff twice take it to them.. You get what you pay for..
Rebuilt my boat motors head did a fine job for a great price. Im about to take my 6.0 vortex to them for a rebuild. Ill rate my experience on a major build once it is complete. I have heard some good thing about this shop and bad . But so far they have been alright
