We were burning through more gas than any of our neighbors and ran out of gas several times when we were not even heating with emergency heat. We had an HVAC professional come to evaluate. He discovered the valve on the tank was faulty and was leaking gas when in the full open position. He discovered this by performing a pressure test on the tank. Co-alliance refused to change out our tank. We were forced to switch providers. Our new provider was nice enough to pull their tank and set it by the street for easy pick up. Co-alliance still sent me a tank removal bill! They charged us to pick up their faulty tank.

Co Alliance provided fuel oil for my friends home for years. They finally upgraded to a propane system with a heat pump. Earlier this year in the spring of 2016 (just before having thier new system installed), because of the drawn out cold weather, she ordered another another tank of fuel oil. She was told what she did not use, they could come out, drain the tank and reimburse her for the unused fuel oil. Sounds great, huh? Well.... Not so great... After the install of the new HVAC, she called Co Alliance to get a propane tank set and for them to come out and drain the fuel oil tank as they promised. Even the guys who set our new propane tank said to just call and schedule the pickup. One call, two call, three calls, no return calls scheduling the fuel oil tank draining. A dozen calls later, nothing. Finally, at the end of October she gets a call back saying they now, no longer drain fuel oil tanks, and that SHE should call and pay a waste disposable company to drain her tank because of the risk of contaminants. Contaminants??? They are the only ones to EVER fill these fuel oil tanks, and the fuel oil in the tank was just pumped in less than six months ago. If they had come out when they first said they would, that fuel oil would only be a couple months old! Lies, lies, lies! Smile and lie to your face while taking your money, then not HONOR THIER WORD when they say they are going to do something for you. Now, she has to dispose of a couple hundred gallons of fuel oil! My friend is a bit too passive to write something like this, but something had to be said, on her behalf.. Advice: Before taking anyone's WORD that will be taking your money, ALWAYS GET IT IN WRITING. There are a lot of people and businesses who's word means nothing. They give it to you just to get your money. Like in this case, even screwing over a long time customer...
