Reviews
First of all, I very rarely leave a review of anything, and I would like to preface this one by saying we filled out the survey provided by Stay Alfred and have had no reply. I have stayed at this location previously and was very happy with my stay. I have recommended it to many people, based on my first stay. The location is good for walking, being central to the French Quarter and the Warehouse District. In my opinion everything between the French Market and the WW2 Museum is walkable, but YMMV. There is a really nice coffee shop on the ground floor, which was a nice bonus. They have a selection of breakfast items as well and we really enjoyed it. This experience was not a pleasant one, however. To begin, the reservation process required numerous phone calls and emails to complete. Lest I be accused of lacking tech savvy, I have stayed here previously without issue, and have never had this sort of problem with any other reservation I have ever had. On arrival, I noted the building was somewhat less clean than it was on my previous visit. The carpets were dirty and could be replaced. Some signage was missing and it could use some paint here and there. The rooms were decorated in a modern style, with halogen LED? type lighting. Unfortunately in one room, there were 5 burned out bulbs. There was only one bulb functional in the bathroom, which created a safety hazard in my mind. A call to Stay Alfred and I was assured that maintenance would replace the bulbs the next day. Nobody came for the 4 days of our stay. The other room was not cleaned well, with dirty socks on the floor and food wrappers in the couch cushions. The floor was not cleaned well. The kitchen was nice. The included Washer/Dryer was a nice touch as well, but took 4.5 HOURS to complete a load of laundry. The most disappointing part of our stay was the swimming pool. I actually changed my reservations so my daughters could have a place with a rooftop pool. The pool was dirty, dangerously so. It was so cloudy and green you could not see the bottom. We spoke with the staff at the desk and they said they would address the issue, but again, nothing was done for the duration of our stay. Again, this is potentially a very nice facility, but there are major issues that need to be addressed.
Perfect location. Apartment was nice. Security was very nice and helpful. Check in/out was fast and easy. Pool is very small and very heavily chlorinated. The treadmill was broken. The walls of the apartment were dirty, the floors were dirty. There was hair in the dresser. The cable was broken. Notified them on Monday. Said they would be there as soon as they could. Checked out on Friday. Still no cable. Nice that pool / work out area is open 24 hrs. Our apartment was located near parking garage, where people honked their horns for valet all night. After first night, we found a box fan in closet and placed it in the middle of apartment on "high." This helped us sleep through the night. You could still hear horns, but didn't wake you. Overall, the building had great potential, was priced right and was in a great location, but maintenance of the building could use improvement.
The apartment was not well maintained. The ice maker was broken, the stopper for the tub was broken which was very inconvenient because we had to hold the stopper to drain the water, the door trim in the bathroom was broken and caused a tripping hazard, pool was filthy and the treadmill didn't work. Location was amazing and there was a convenient store right across the street. Don't rent a car parking cost to much...just Uber It would be the perfect spot if they keep the apartments and amenities up.
Good walking location and comfortable bed but that is it. Plumbing issues in the room, pull out sofa was broken with no mattress, and our key to the fitness room and pool would not work. The front desk was unable to assist with any of these issues! Oh ya......and there is no parking on site. Had to park 1 block away for $25 a day!
It was our first time staying at a Stay Alfred property...and, it was AWESOME! A great switch from a conventional hotel stay. For the price, the chic amenities & personal touches were unbeatable. Can't wait to stay at another Stay Alfred property!
Very quiet and easy fob access to building. The amenities like the pool and gym are great. The location is great. Walking distance to Bourbon Street and the trolley.
I just had a great experience booking online at the Stay Alfred 505 website with Sarah the reservation specialist. She was able to get me a better deal than anywhere I could find! Cannot wait for my stay at Stay Alfred 505.
Spacious two bedroom apartment with kitchen and living room. Fairly quiet considering proximity to French quarter. Cafe named Merchant on ground floor.
Great location! Could use a fresh coat of paint and pull out sofa sleeper was not adequate to sleep on. Otherwise good experience.
I stayed at the apartment from 6/23-6/26 the pool was out of service my entire stay. The pool was green
